I also am not personally nervous about him getting here and doing something because it requires a lot of effort and resources that he doesn't have. I also don't think he has the wherewithal to obtain an automatic weapon. But it is a sign of him getting worse and worse and I think his handlers should know about it.

For the record, bullying people isn't much better than threatening them. Any of us could have been unlucky enough to be JD, try being thankful you're in a better spot instead of being miserable assholes.

Thing is, I liked JDTAY. It was adorable watching him follow Smartmuffin around like a puppy, repeating lines about state aggression and monopoly of force. The pizza thing was cute too. I was gonna teach him how to make homemade pizza so that he could stock up on ingredients and have pizza anytime.

My hope is that he's not actually "unhinged" or anything of the sort, it's just that his fetish is attention and he's happily whacking to this topic as we speak.

He and digi don't like each other because jdtay doesn't like tabii for w/e reason, and also because I can back digi up that he had tried numerous times to break jdtay of his "buy games I won't play, use money wastefully" bad habits to no avail. Did you know even one time JD basically made fun of us in discord when he told us about his latest purchases, he said "Come on guys, aren't you even going to try and talk me down from it?" Like, at that point, he doesn't even care what it is that we say, just that we say it. It's classic attention-grabbing. Is he a bad person fro that? No way, it's annoying but not evil. But I think once he realized digi didn't like him he thought "well fine, I won't like you either, that'll show you!" This last post of his was the culmination of that pent up anger at not being liked.

I can't really judge, all I can say is that it's not healthy to engage in negative relationships. Even if it's the other side that can be blamed. Maybe he was upset about the attention tabii was able to get. But really what I am getting at... there is a guy who has been a board 8 poster and part of your community for years, and he's now discussing murder/animal torture situations. I'm worried that it looks like it's being used for more attention. That the goal isn't to fix the situation.

And yeah, I'm terrible so I appreciate the drama. But I feel like I like board 8 and everyone who posts here. So I worry. Is this a sick guy who randomly lashed out? Or was this something that had been building in a public forum?

I worry that there's a guy who had those dark thoughts and even though he is banned, it's easy to find your way back here. He's reading these posts and it's only making things worse. How do we fix this?

As the other Discord user to have their life threatened, the situations aren't actually that different, outside of JD being a bit more descriptive (skinning cats beats slitting throats).

Both MMX and JD had mental health history, were active members of the community, and had several other spats with users as well as friendships. I can't say I know what MMX is up to these days but I can say as a whole the ban is the best thing to come from this for both sides. It's not foolproof, but hopefully JD can find other ways to use his time (whether they be healthier or not, it was pretty clear this place would never be healthy for him), and we can move on to other topics of conversation, leaving this in our B8/Discord history books.

JD needed help, but not only did he not want it, he repeatedly flaunted it in people's faces that he didn't want it, wasting everyone's time (sounds familiar right, almost like a young handsome user that had a tough time with the ladies). The options pretty much became he shapes up, or a meltdown happens. We all see which one he chose. Verdict is still out on that young handsome user but I would assume if he went the meltdown route it'd be pretty damn memorable.

yeah, you can need help and also be an ass. you can have mental problems and still be a dick. you can be a bad person on top of having personality disorders. and again, there are months and months of people on discord trying to help him and legitimately being concerned for him. in the end, he just wanted that attention, he never wanted to actually accept the help. the fact that he became a sideshow joke for all of us was almost enough for him, until i put him on ignore because it wasn't worth it anymore. then he decided that i deserve to have my wedding shot up and my cats skinned while my bride-to-be is forced to watch.

like, that's not an exaggeration. that's literally the whole story as condensed as i can make it. have i been a dick to jdtay? absolutely, but only after he spent months and months building up to it.

I mean, many people, myself included, have expressed how blindsided they were by him saying that. But with the fact he also didn't like digi, I think it's a combo of both really. Killed 2 birds with 1 stone, expressed his anger and got attention for it. You are absolutely right, the goal for him isn't to fix the situation because in his mind there is nothing to fix. He's on welfare now, he can buy stuff to satisfy his craving now, and anything that happens his therapist can fix for him, because it's like magic. As far as he's concerned everything is fine for him. We as a community have tried to help him, and tried encouraging him to get actual professional help. What he does for himself is in his hands now.

To briefly weigh in: we tried for many months to help JD. I routinely went out of my way to talk to him about his treatment and his medications and so forth. He sought my opinion out on occasions (sometimes for things that he should have gone to his prescribers or pcp for, even).

He would listen to our advice and either disregard it entirely or do the opposite. I don't think this is a flaw of personality, I think it's probably a cognitive issue, and also perhaps a an issue of insufficient treatment options available to someone in his socioeconomic class in his geographic area.

He knows knows he needs better treaters, he knows he needs to be an advocate for himself, but he doesn't seem to have the capacity to do these things, and his caretakers either don't know or don't care to change anything

This is purely my opinion, but while he does have a therapist, I would be willing to wager that he doesn't actually bring any of his issues up to them. Everytime he said something like "I'll ask my therapist about it" I don't believe that he did. Again, purely my opinion.

Edit: Or what SZ or Cokes said sounds plausible too, either he could be just ignoring it or they could just not be very good therapists.

It doesn't sound like he is ignoring it, but it isn't being adequately addressed. I don't know if he has the capacity to understand what is really wrong and how to really get help. All I know here is that he was engaged in an online relationship that resulted in him wanting to kill a lot of you and torture animals in front of others.

That's not to blame victims, but, if you feel like you can be mean to a guy with a lot of problems (understandable feeling) then that's something to overcome. I mean, you shouldn't feel like you need to be a shepherd for someone else every time you want to hang out online with your friends, I get that. I get that he was a frustrating person. But now that we know where this leads, how does it get fixed?

Maybe it's as simple as he needs to go fuck himself, call the cops and ignore him/move on. I see these topics and worry that the situation is accelerating in the same direction that caused the threatening post. And I posted smug little comments along the way, make no mistake.

Yeah I don't fully remember what started it, I think he had (intentionally or unintentionally) said something negative about my brother, I took offense, we had a back and forth, and then he said he'd find me and slit my throat. This was like a year and a half ago.
