Follow up Qs: What is your phone's biggest flaw? Having used it for however long you've used it, would you buy it again, or do you wish you had chosen something else?

I'm trying to figure out what the fuck phone to get

edit: I have AT&T and my budget is like, $700 max.

I have a Huawei something-or-other, which Digi graciously provided so I can do some writing work for him. My old phone was ancient. I can't think of any real flaws to the piece. But I'm no cellular connoisseur.

S7 Edge

Bought it becasue I had only Windows phones up to that point.
It's pretty good.
The biggest flaw is it's camera and that is becasue I only had Windows phones up to that point and the Nokia Lumia 1020 had an absolutely great camera that was 41MP.

Darn 2013 technology spoiling me from my 2016 phone.

HTC M9

It's powerful, has good speakers and is metal so it doesn't fucking break.

It's old now, so it has issues connecting to Wifi, it runs hot when running intensive programs (emulators, most, in my case) and HTC has a couple of notifications in some scenarios that you can't remove. The battery is also irremovable.

Overall, it's a great phone, and the newer HTCs are probably good too.

Went S3-S5-S7.

Change is basically dictated by the price I could buy the phone for.

The price I paid for the phone also paid me back a Frys Gift card(Which I basically flipped for my Switch some months later).

I recently bought a Ulefone, or to put it in other words, a cheap chinese brand phone. For the most part, I am satisfied, though there were a few quirks to adjust to. It was the most phone I could get for the least amount of cash, so it has that going for it.

Galaxy S8+ because I like big screens and my last phone died and I don't want to have to worry about being underpowered in the next 2 years.

Also I like Galaxy phones.

I do miss my stylus a little though.

I have a Galaxy S8. I had a lease on the S7E and decided to trade it in to return it. For some reason despite it showing I'd owe xxx money even when returning the phone.... I have yet to be billed for it and I've already gotten a couple of bills since. Whatever the case The S8 cost me about 600 in total (before taxes).

If you can find a national retailer that services your carrier (like a Walmart, Bestbuy, Target, etc) they often have special deals on major brands where you can get the top end phones for either cheaper, with a bonus, or both.

As for the reason I chose the phone itself. I've been thinking of moving over to apple for a while. However, the S8s construction and smaller form factor with a bigger screen was just to appealing. One of the big issues I had with the S7E was that the grip was kind of poor and it was hard to use with one hand. The S8 has none of these. The base of a 64GB internal and such were also big factors.

The only issue with the phone is that the fingerprint scanner is in a dumb spot. Like it's not unusable, but it could be better. I guess too that it could have more ram, but that's more for me as I run a lot of apps like animated backgrounds, launchers, and the like and I do sometimes feel the need for a little more ram than the 4gbs that are there. I have been aware that Asia is getting a 6GB ram version, but I also hear that it will come at like a 30% price increase or something like that. For most people 4GB is enough.

The AKG earbuds are also nice and they will probably be my portable set from now on since I can't take my Fostex out of the house much.

I had the Nexus 6 and was definitely too big. Nexus 5/5x were a good size. But the Pixel XL really is in the sweet spot. It's barely bigger than the 5x but the screen is much bigger and it feels nice.

iphone 5. I prefer non-Apple products but my family life sucked me into the world of iphones and ipads a while ago. The iphone 5 is a really good size for a phone for me. It's worked well for 4 years, good battery life, durability, etc. The biggest complaint at this point is the lack of storage... 16gb is ridiculous and I'm a fairly casual user these days. iTunes and apple music are also terrible but I've gotten over them a long time ago.

Motorola G4 Play. It's cheap and unlocked and does what I need.

Cons: 1. No alert lights. 2. No "back" button that Samsung phones have. 3. The emoji button occupies space that belongs to the Space bar.

I've never felt my phone was underpowered, and its battery life has pretty wildly exceeded my expectations.

Galaxy S4 Active back in spring 2014. I've had terrible luck with Apple products so I wasn't getting an iPhone to continue that streak, so I went with the alternative. Got the active because I frequently drop electronics (3DS and Vita as well) and it hasn't broken yet, even without a case.

16 GB storage is definitely too small though, when I upgrade I'll definitely get more space. It's lasted for three years now so it was a good purchase.

I have a Nexus 6P. I bought it because I was moving on from a Samsung S5 and wanted something bigger running stock Android. It was pretty affordable too, off contract. I've had it for nearly two years and it still runs great. Something would have to wow me this year, or my phone would have to die, for me to upgrade again.

I also have an iPhone 7 for work. it's an iPhone. it's fine.

Galaxy S6

Had an S4 and I was pretty happy with it so I upgraded to the new model when it was time to get a new phone. It's good but I do miss the microSD slot and removable battery. I don't hate the Samsung interface like a lot of people seem to, but I do think I'm gonna go for stock Android next time. Probably a Pixel 2 if they come out this year.
