The publishers that rely on pre-orders to sustain their annual release cycles then realized with enough pre-orders, it really doesn't matter how the product turns out. Good, bad, shit, whatever, they have what they need to start the next installment. Early-access, especially in the case of indie devs, seems to be an even worse offender. I felt that article was poorly balanced as it left such a lasting bad tone for the game. Its like they wanted the backers to all stop supporting the game. I understand why the game was divided into two main parts for first person shooting and space simulation. I just dont like how the game is divided into those parts while the foundation is still a mystery limited to dev lets plays and sustained hype to a tune of over $115 million.
