I pay for mine. Car takes a lot of oil and it's not much more expensive than doing it myself.

Change it on my motorcycle though

It's high mileage oil, I think that's about average. And either way it's 40$ every half a year or so.

I pay somebody. I had a nanny who taught me how to do it when I lived in Florida but I was super young at the time and can't remember the steps, nor do I want to take the risk.

Cheaper than a lot of the places in my area. Then again, I think I get synthetic.

I used to. Nowadays I pay someone because I dont feel like it doing it myself. Plus I barely put any miles on my truck so oil changes aren't that frequent.

In the past, I was a do-it-yourself type when it came to oil changes. Nowadays, I usually have a local car shop do that because it's part of a package deal that came with the tire rotations.

I helped my friend change his once, so that I could learn how to do it. Took a long time and was pretty dirty work, and while I get cheap oil and he splurged for the better kind...he ended up paying about as much as I do. Doesn't seem worth all the effort at all.

I get it every 3500 miles, and I don't drive much so that's basically 3 times a year. Usually around $25 or so after tax. Having someone else do it has other benefits. They generally do some basic checks on the car for free, and apparently fill your fluids. Because every time I actually remember to check my fluids (maybe once in 5 years!), they're all mysteriously at sufficient levels even though I have never once in my life poured any in myself.

In my Kia I do it every 3000-5000 miles or so. I pay a company to do it.

My Mazda so far I haven't had to pay someone to do it. It's been under the service contract for 2 and a half years. It ends in August. After that I'll be paying the dealership to do it.

This exactly. I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks to not have to dispose of the used oil. Motorcycle is all me though.

I used to pay a dealership to do it. Now that I'm a technician at a dealership, I can do it myself for $8 in oil and the filter. My motorcycle costs more to change and it obly takes 2.4 qts of oil, but it takes 20w50. Oil changes are relatively easy, depending on the make and model. Everything European tends to be covered in plastic covers and other stupid things.
