It also depends on what they smoke, cigarettes do put off a strong odor but cigars aren't even half as bad smelling. Either would bother me less than them spraying everything in a thick coating of air freshener. Also, their car/house, their rules. A lot of people would just smoke in the car on the way back, again their choice, if you know they smoke and are gonna want a smoke break before leaving, and that would bother you, why come? What if the smoker paid for the whole meal? What if they drove? Also, think of the people who treat people who smoke like shit, over something that's really none of their damn business. If they start first and they're not by a door I don't think you have any reason to complain because you can walk around. Hell if they are outside the door the half a second for you to walk by isn't going to hurt you.
