I'm 100% sure I'm missing games in this list, but I did my best. If I remember others I will add them to this list and post this here.
Lastly the games are setup into the original platform I played them on, so even though Final Fantasy X is now better on PS3/4, I still left it in the PS2 category.

I'd put Too Human on my xbox 360 list for sure.

I'm totally with you on Kingdom hearts 1 (was my favorite)

I'd rate any game a 10/10 if I loved it so much I couldn't stop playing it, and/or I kept playing it over and over again for years.

FF3(6) for instance makes the list, as does the first final fantasy, but those are the only ones that do (only ones I replayed at least 10 times and kept playing for at least 10 years after they where released).

Original Phantasy star online also would make the list, again I played that to death and loved it the whole time.

Diablo 2 is a freaking 11 for me honestly.

I'd probably put super mario 64 on the list as well as I loved that and have still played it even a year ago (on 3ds but still).

World of Xeen would make the list as my earliest PC game to do so I think.

Original Zelda and Zelda II Links adventures would be the only zelda games to make the list for me.

Castlevania Symphony of the night would also make the list.

Bah, again, it's pointless way too many for me to break down.

I'm of course slightly lenient, no game is absolutely perfect. But from what all these games tried to do in their genre, they did it as well as humanly possible.

Also I've played and beaten well over a couple hundred games, probably even much more then that. I maybe have about 40ish on the list, that's not that much.

Some more...by types:

Light gun game: Elemental Gearbolt.

FPS type game: Borderlands 2 (although 1 was great as well)

I can't choose just 1 dark souls game honestly, so I'll just put them all on the list as a group.

Tower Defense Game: There have been more fun games but original Plants vs Zombies wins for me as most fun when it was released.

MMO: Probably old school Dungeons and Dragons online before they ruined it.

I'm missing genres but whatever, it's good enough.

Couple of side notes:

Horizon Zero dawn was fantastic but I wouldn't give it a 10, Probably a strong 9.

Persona 5 is fucking balls deep amazing, but I haven't beat it yet so I don't want to add it to the list. Though if it keeps going, it will make a 10/10.

Last of Us I'm struggling if I want to put up there, but I'm not sure if I give a full Ten. If it's not a 10 though it's like a 9.8.

Pretty sure it's running at higher frame rate, and it's 1080p. It's not extremely better on PS4, but it's still better.

of all the games you listed, I can only agree with Dungeon Defenders.

Binding of Isaac gets there for me. I've put close to 1000 hours into BOI + expansions.

Anyway, was glad to see Xenosaga 1 & 3 on there (why did they have to make combat a nightmare in 2?), I would also rate them 10/10 and both are excellent.

Xenoblade I would give maybe a 7/8 out of 10, too many sidequests and too much busy work and fetch quests.

I had some respect for your ratings... then saw Final Fantasy 8 on there... boo. 4/10..at best. Playable, but I never want to replay it under any circumstances.

Every game has flaws, and if I can enumerate them, then it's not a perfect game, so it doesn't get a perfect score. If there is a perfect game, I haven't seen or played it yet.

So like Xenosaga is a good example of my rating system. I give it a 10/10... BUT I take away points for a few reasons:

-Not balanced (KOSMOS is broken)
-Too easy
-Unfinished parts

If I find minuses like that in a game, it's not 10/10... unless other aspects of the game are so good, that the bad parts hardly matter. In this case, both the characters and the story are so good imo, that the rest takes a back seat.

Another example is Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It's too easy, the story is poor and the translations are laughable at best. But the game is so much fun to play, the combat is fun, the options are endless and the music is phenomenal. Again, the pluses outweigh the minuses by so much the that I don't care. The game play is like a 15 out of 10, the experience so immensely satisfying that the errors aren't enough to move the needle.

Seems like you're using bias as the primary driver in your ratings.

To me, a 10/10 game is perfection. You're telling me you've played games before they are perfect? Which ones, I'd love to play them.

I view it differently. I look at the overall experience. How much fun was this? How likely am I going to want to play it again? Yeah it's subjective, but I don't view games as an art, rather as a form of entertainment. Do I care if the graphics aren't perfect or if there's a gameplay mechanic that could use some tweaking if I had a blast? Of course not.

A game can also be a work of art and just plain boring and not enjoyable.

10 is just "the highest rating." That's literally it. It shouldn't equate to perfection. The problem here is there's no definition of perfect. There's no metric, no standard, no quantifiable bar of measurement that games can be judged on. It's all subjective and to try to treat it objectively, especially to such a degree as having any kind of fault result in an imperfect score, is asinine.

An example, my favorite game is Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and I consider that a 10. It has all the right stuff and is a perfect video game in my eyes. However it has an easily encountered glitch that can accidentally softlock the game, forcing a reset. It's really a simple bug, a small programming oversight, but obviously the code isn't "perfect" due to it. Despite that you won't convince me to deduct an entire point off the game, that doesn't communicate anything of importance or accomplish anything.

Refusing to score any game a 10 is an exercise in vanity.
