Has Valve ever stated why they didn't continue with episode 3? It's a meme stemming from several ARGs that Valve has run over the years with Half-Life references but ended up being about something completely unrelated as well as datamined shit from their other games which all use the same engine that have (likely abandoned) HL3 code references. Every time someone found one of these, there was a buzz about how everyone could expect a Half-Life 3 announcement but it finally gets to the conclusion and it's something ridiculous like "Steam music" and everyone leaves disappointed. So people just ran that to its natural conclusion and just started finding ways to prove that everything is confirmation of Half-Life 3.
