Never EVER should there be a pair of battles like this again, especially the Madragoras. I mean, you can argue that all Ultros is is the most poorly designed hone check ever.... but Jesus. The Mandragoras, my Christ dude.....

Ultros is way too bulky, and has so much god damn health... ALL 5 forms. Especially the 5th. I think yhrn5th form alone has as much HP as most apocalypse battles..

Like I said, Ultros isn't really that hard, just the home check from fucking hell.

Ultros was probably designed more with bursts than hones in mind though, he also has fire/electric weaknesses so some characters are tailor made to kill him with their relics (Ashe, Shantotto, Kain, Terra, Refia, Locke, Papalymo ect) It's probably better to use SB building materias like Knight's Charge and Ace Striker on characters with instant burst commands who can fill up another bar quickly like Vaan, Alphinaud, Raines, Onion Knight ect if he's too much of an endurance with just hones.

I mastered the FFXI ultimates.

Porphyrion was cake, I brought Prishe and thankfully she can use Slowga so I don't have to rely on Tempo Flurry, Vaan for breaks, Beatrix for Gaia's Cross and Tyro/Y'shtola. He never did any significant damage outside of Ultimate Roar of Thunder but Asylum patched that up.

Minotaur was also easy thanks to native Raines burst, I don't have any Shantotto relics but all she really needed to do was use Ley Lines RW and some chainga spells, Raines and Alphinaud killed him so quickly she only got a little over a bar anyway at the end of the fight.

Shadow Lord took forever though, he has two "lives" kind of like Primal Exdeath but that adds up to 400k HP together and he has no weakness. I egged up Prishe to 80 and brought Vayne, Vaan, Tyro and Y'shtola. First life is the same as the multiplayer from earlier but the second phase is more a straightforward Ultimate++ and he stops the immunity, but I was gimped because my Vessel of Fate ran out during the first life since Vayne had to do the physical immunity phase by himself. Second part was a race to kill him before Tyro ran out of wraths to use SG but other than that I was never in danger of dying thanks to Prishe's Super and Y'shtola's burst.

I just realized that there are 2 EXP Daily Dungeons now.

That's great, but I kinda wish they were further apart, especially with one not being on the same day as Power & Black Orbs.

Mandragoras are really annoying. I eventually got a run where I managed to not get hit by too many debilitating status effects and managed to AoE them down with a mage team and Raines RW.

Ultros wasn't too hard, but with that much HP, the fight just took a really long time. I tried to rush him down quickly and RW Wall, but I couldn't kill him before Wall ran out. I wasn't actually successful until I brought both native Wall and native Shout.

I want to also do at least D200 Torment Velius as well before they go away, maybe also D250 Gi Nattak.

King of Darkness mastered. Was a tad annoying with his immunities in the first form, but a Thunder God from TGC took care of a good portion of health. Basically just melted him in his second form with Raines' burst and OK's swiftspell.

Took out Torment 200 Velius (Belias) as well. Basically, saved up 3 Thunder Gods for TG Cid, and my RW was a TG Cid with 700 attack, so was basically going to just unload with 5 blasts to end it fast. Problem was, apparently I didn't target my first cast of RW and my first native TG, so they both went at a regular demon. SG ended up running out as well, but I had enough in the tank (mainly Agrias' OSB) to finish him. Not sure if I'll give any of the 250s a shot, as micromanaging through 4 rounds of trash is tough, I don't even know how 6 is possible.

There's maintenance tonight so make sure to use up all your stamina before 1 AM PST.

Kefka also got a second BSB in Japan for some reason, strange since he got one recently and it's still pretty good. Usually the main purpose of second BSBs was for characters who have dated ones like Cecil, Squall and Bartz.

i don't see how the other difficulties are even possible

Was tyro a dancer?
Did anyone dispel their haste/protect/shell?

Ultimate Mystery Waltz, used when any one of them dies gives all the remaining ones Protect, shell, and haste as well as a heal and stat boost. Oh, and they all start with haste at the start of the battle. So dispel can certainly help. >_>

There's only one AOE dispel. Hope's Second BSB.

In any case, my winning 240 run consisted of a team with...

Basch (Plat. Shield & some SSB that gave phys. blink) & Fran (AOE Hyper Break BSB)
Tyro (SG) & OK (BSB, OSB)
Tyro (Frock Coat, Keeper's tome), Maria (BSB)
Ramza (Shout, Tailwind), Y'shtola (Asylum)

Three of these characters (Basch, Ramza, and Maria) carried a form of dispel, and I almost put dispel on my OK as well.

Ended up being a very long fight due to no real damage dealers besides Maria, but with literally every mitigation we could swing, it wasn't bad.

Once you blind the one and sleep the other one, damage becomes much more manageable.

I seriously hope we get that on Global.

welp. first event since Caius that i didn't finish. i procrastinated too much, got into a group for d200 mandragoras like 15 minutes ago and won at 8:59. no time for the d240. never actually had a single attempt at it.

Someone on reddit went 1/30 and got Tyro OSB. So pretty much the worst pull you can get.

I made a JP account just to see what I would get. I got Beatrix OSB, OK sword super, Reno Super, Lightning Peacemaker, Serah glove Super, Leila Super and then some glove Super from a realm I couldn't even tell what it is. There was some sort of other freebie pull too, don't think it was a guaranteed relic pull but I got Vincent OSB from it

Beat Belias Apocalypse+, fuck this fight took forever. Same stuff he usually does besides a few new placement based attacks. Hate how his Ultimate Cyclops can aoe petrify you and screw you over in the last 1/4th of the fight.

Looks like I'm bringing Sabin again to the fight. His Medica + Esuna SSB has been doing wonders in multiplayer.

Ultimates mastered-

Argath is a weakling who barely does any damage and has very little health, my mage team tore him apart, don't bother getting rid of his haste since he's so weak and will probably put it back up anyway, you'll kill him so quickly it won't matter. The Black Mages' spell do sting a bit but shellga/Wall makes it nothing.

Isilud is the easiest Ultimate+ By far, even easier than Gaffgarion, Dark Cecil and those Myst Monsters from the Beatrix event. I'll just copypasta what TheChap said on the RK forum

This guy has an attack pattern that is not important because if you use FB and armor break/down on him and RW a TGC OSB twice, he is dead. That's all you need to know. This fight should be over before it really starts.

I Cid Mission'd with no trouble at all.

Marach was also very easy, he did very little damage outside of Ultimate attacks and dies pretty quickly. My mage team made short work of him, but apparently you have to kill all the enemies in this fight, not like it mattered since thanks to whaling for Orlandeau's OSB back in January and ending up with a bunch of Lambent hats Papalymo's burst command was doing 6 hits and did half of the Ninja/Summorer's health each blow.

I haven't fought every ultimate due to not getting strong enough to do U++ until the FFXIV banner but I think it's safe to say that these are the easiest Ultimates.

I have 2 FFX Soft Bracers. They are 4*s, and only moderate resist, but it's better than nothing.

Ridiculous DPS when combined with a few other stuff. Like gamebreakingly high

Cloud USB sets a new status that increases damage and critical rate and allows all the user's stuff to use the OSB damage cap. The last part is the crazy part; turns out it's worth jumping through a lot of hoops if it lets you deal 120,000 damage with Snowspell Strike.

It also stacks with Ramza's chant for more Critical damage, and if you have say something like Refia's Burst she'll do even more insane damage with the 9999 cap broken.

The attack softcap will also be raised around the same time as well.
