I don't think so, no matter how stupid he is, most of the world is wary against a world war, even if it's only for the fact that we're so interconnected, any world war would be detrimental and they would try to resolve things without going to it (and no, the world going against 1 nation doesn't count as a world war, that's disciplining an unruly child).

He's ignorant, but above all, he values his own way of life, and we all know he'll do anything he can to protect it.

I said insanity would be required, not stupidity. A major world power would have to be, in effect, gassing their own citizens in concentration camps and that's really not something that could ever happen anymore. Not in the world we live in.

Again, him being stupid doesn't mean WW3 would happen. Even when he started talking shit about NK, China was like...well...maybe he has a point...because they knew that they would get fucked if they tried to intervene.

The same thing happened with Russia and Syria.

Shit, the US only got involved in the second world war after the assholes bombed us. Even knowing what we knew, we were still content to just let shit happen. Russia only entered when that asshole Hitler invaded the Soviet Union. Up until that point, they had a non-aggression pact.

It takes an AWFUL lot to start a world war.

Very unlikely. I feel as a whole many of countries economy are so intertwine that it would screw over some countries in the long term if a third World War took place. To some degree I'd say it is more about economical power than military power.
