Or there's far fewer management positions than lower level positions so it's a matter of waiting for a manager to quit, get fired, or die.

I'm one of the few people who actually worked hard to get to manager instead of kissing every ass possible in my office and am basically the only one that treats the lower level people like...people.

As a consequence of this I'm not invited to hang out with the "cool kids"(the other managers) when they all do shit together. Joke's on them, I hate social gatherings anyway.

I fucking hate that baby boomers were basically allowed to waste away at one position instead of rising as necessary (because they didn't develop as workers at all), thereby occupying a large percentage of entry level positions that could be better taken by a younger person.

I've noticed this too, at different work places.

Thank god I figured out how to spot good management from bad management from the get-go, and now I've joined a team of decent managers/coordinators myself.

Things worked out for me, and I'm glad. I try not to lose my humanity.
