32 y/o Former Gamefaqs User and IGN writer Colin Moriarty SOBBED as he described how hard it was to leave "Kinda Funny", an online entertainment company he co-founded.

He drew outrage after he tweeted #ADayWithoutAWoman which was a direct attack on the International Women's Day movement. Colin is a prominent and "proud" Conservative who balks at the liberal politics in the gaming industry and said he stepped down from the company so that they don't receive negative attention because of him.

He said "I'm sick of being these people's proxy and t heir meat shield and they just hang me out to dry."

Colin has long been the black sheep in gaming journalism in which he describes himself as one of the lone conservative voices in a group of other journalists he calls "hyper liberal". Many of those he worked with TURNED on him after the controversy as his list of friends shrank since then.

Colin was filled with tears as he told Dave Rubin "When i was out there, you were the first person that leant me your hand and you treated me, it's bringing tears to my ees, you and your husband treated me, you're my newest friend and you treated me like you were my oldest friend and people out there i've known forever just abandoned me"

Colin started writing for Gamefaqs at 14 for games such as Legend of Zelda and Megan before working full time at IGN and eventually let starting Kinda Funny on Youtube.

Colin was popular among the conservative voice as his followers praised him for speaking out against un-popular opinions

Why else would Trump get into office? Its the same sort of situation that got Hitler into office as well. If Trump ran against Clinton 12 years ago, he would not have stood a chance. That being said, I am not an American, and thus, did not vote.

actually what got Hitler into office was literally punching Nazis. the nazi party was a fringe group until the German Communist Party started attacking them in the streets. this gave them an enemy to rise up to resist and they grew more powerful. it's possibly that if the communists had left the early nazis alone, then they never would have taken power.

not a huge fan of ign. I think they have issues in general. Same with gamefaqs and gamespot for that matter just because of their policies. But in general people think they know people they don't in this internet age. I've had people say stuff to me online that is so ludicrous they don't even know it is. A lot of people think they are good people and other people are bad when it's the other way around. that is the issue with social media is it's the blind leading the blind and most people don't realize this fact. It's just one assumption after the other. People with agendas. Some people are that stupid too. Quite a few are actually.

A lot can be twisted in this internet age we live in in other words. I'm not that stupid though. I've seen peoples true colors. There are some messed up people out there for sure. It's not always how it appears either. At least I know I'm not one of them. Don't really care what people think of me either that don't know me either anymore for that reason. used to care what other people think but then realized how shady and how people twist things and use your kindness too. I know the truth at least.

I've listened to podcasts that he's done for almost ten years. I don't share all his opinions but I do respect the guy, and I enjoy a lot of the work he's done. The backlash surrounding his joke is actually pretty shameful, and he made some good points. Almost nobody in the gaming industry stood up and tried to calm down the angry mob. Sure, I'm pretty liberal, but that doesn't mean that conservatives should just get shit on like he did. His opinions on video games were very interesting and his knowledge of history was pretty entertaining.

Bummer that the industry is losing his voice, I guess we get to look forward to more and more of the same unified voice in games media. Hearing the same opinion everywhere you go doesn't really do much for making us more informed readers.

Edit - as for the poll options in this topic, it's lacking a middle ground (kind of like our country's current political atmosphere, what a shock!) so its not very applicable. I cannot necessarily agree or disagree with every political opinion of another person.
