No one will receive a majority, and so the top two will go to a second round. Benoit Hamon is the same party as the current president, Francois Hollande, but his primary opponent(Manuel Valls) endorsed Emmanuel Macron instead, so his support has cratered. Le Pen is a less subtle Trump, Fillon is a scandal-plagued center-right guy, Melanchon is an actual leftist, and Emmaneul Macron is, like, Michael Bloomberg-ish? A vote for Melanchon is a vote against austerity, so he's who I would vote for if I were French. Though Melenchon has shot up dramatically in recent weeks through the debates and use of viral campaigning and pub stunts. I think it was Bloomberg that had a decent link about it and breaking it down, I'll try to find it.
