Now I'm not saying the prequels were even close to the originals but they introduced some great characters

Also Disney has been pretty great so far

Obviously the original trilogy is the best by far but even the prequels brought something good to the table and helped expand the universe

So is episode 1, and while episode 3 has some redeeming qualities, it has some of the worst dialogue of any movie I have ever seen.

I'd say "name one", but then you'd name a bunch of lame or terrible characters, and I'd have to come back to point out that none of the characters you named are actually worthwhile in any real way, and we'd just have to agree to disagree anyway (but you'd still be wrong).

About the only good things to come out of the prequels at all are Mr. Plinkett and Jar-Jar the Sith Lord. But the last one doesn't count for the same reason Indoctrination Theory doesn't save the ending of Mass Effect 3. "Your story was so terrible the fans had to create false alternative interpretations and offbeat theories to make it palatable" isn't really glowing praise.

Star Wars Epsiode 1 was bad. Really the whole moive is about jedi trying to make peace with a trading route. I figured they were be more bad ass monks and not politician. And explaining that science of the force. it broke the lore and mystery of what the jedi are.

Epsiode 2 was bad. It was poorly written and the movie felt rushed.

Episode 3 i didn't get what the heck had happen previously to this movie. It felt like there was to much of a gap between episode 2 and 3. When did General Grievous show up? Should i care about this guy even though i have no clue what his story is?

Yeah really the only 'good' characters to come out of it were characters that were already in the series.

honestly, not a huge fan of any of them. can there never be a single minute of good fight choreography in star wars? they have all the right ingredients to make a revolutionary fight scene, but instead what we always get is mediocre bordering on terrible.

If it weren't for the prequels, we would not have the Clone Wars and Rebels series which manage to far outdo the OT at times.

This. The movies may not have been great (1 is unwatchable, 2 is meh, 3 is good), but the material it inspired was/is some of the BEST Star Wars stuff. Especially with the new canon.

This basically. The characters were a huge aspect of why the prequels were so bad. I'd say that they were so bad that they have no redeeming qualities. I'm not feeling up to arguing this either. If you can't clearly see how blatantly bad it is, then you never will. The first film set the bar so low I was blown away that they could go even lower with the second film. The third was almost watchable though.
