Is that true? I thought sizes were distorted because it's either that or make the shapes more distorted due to changing a globe into a rectangular map.

i think its mostly due to the design of the globes/maps but i wouldnt be surprised if some dumbass old white dude thought murica or euorpe should be bigger cuz its better.

meh, my 6th grade math teacher one day told the class that the reason HIV was around was because some gay guy screwed a monkey then went and screwed a bunch of other gay guys.

teachers aren't the ultimate source of fair and unbiased information.

He's cool though. I really like him (I don't know why he is teaching high school rn because he also has some days where he's a professor at a college in Fort Wayne) and he seems like a pretty unbiased guy. He mentioned that Equiano's memoir has come under scrutiny as to how much truth is in it despite it being treated as fact in the book and he tried to balance our discussions on nationalism for example

doesnt change the fact that he's expressing a bias belief in a primary school that is designed more for teaching and less for debate. its perfectly fine in a college setting, it isn't in a primary school.
