Heard their stock fell $1.4 billion since last weekend. Not sure how true that is.

Man, they really fucked that guy up.

Whatever gets you to stop making trump topics.

I might get a job at united and start a fight just for that purpose.

So it's up to about 5 or 6% loss.

I'm sure they're quaking in their boots.

Imagine an airplane wearing boots. That'd be pretty silly.

A 5-6% loss just days after it happened is a pretty significant loss.

I have a friend who is an airline pilot with american, so while not the same company, cant wait to talk to him to get somebody as close to an expert as I know, to ask what the deal is.

certainly better than all this shit flinging on the internet.

Good thing I wasn't talking about an airplane.

You still imagined it, though.

I didn't say it was insignificant. I'm saying it isn't that much in the long term.

Now if it had done 20-30% dive that quickly. But as of now, they can and will recover.

My favorite part about this situation is that the actions of a hand full of people has many wanting the entire company to fold. Effective thousands of workers that have nothing to do with this situation.

I'm curious why they didn't just keep upping the offer for someone to get off the plane. They stopped offering money after the $800-1000 mark. Had they bumped it allll the way up to $50,000, it still would have saved them a shit ton of money (although someone would eventually snag the deal way before this point because greed would encourage people to jump at the opportunity in fear of someone else grabbing the money first).

Piss poor management overall.

I am however now imagining a hot, leggy, long haired redhead wearing boots bent over a seat and making airplane noises while I plow her in the ass.

That's close enough to the image I initially came up with, I guess.

The actions of a few people is indicative of shit training and shit culture within the company. That's why people hate United and want them out of business.

Don't worry; I'll go back to talking about Trump soon enough.

Did you know Ivanka convinced Donny to bomb Syria? Yup, he didn't listen to his fucking military advisors; he listened to his daughter he wants to bone.

And yet millions don't seem to have as much of a problem. But okay.

Don't fix the problem. Possibly ruin the lives of thousands.

Great plan.

It's the principle of the thing! Are you not principled?! What United did was such an outrage and everyone who works for United should be imprisoned!

Did you know United had one of those Twitter hashtags asking people to share their positive encounters but everyone posted all the shit they've had to deal with?

There are also multiple stories a quick Google search away detailing other abuses of power they've done. They also stole Union employee's pensions from them.

United has a sustained pattern of abuse towards employees and customers, going further back than what they did to that doctor. Pretending they're an upstanding company is false.

I read something somewhere about there being a cap of $800 or $1000 or something like that. At which point, if nobody's biting, you gotta call corporate and get them on the phone.

We're talking about a situation where they could have gone up to $1 billion dollars to four different people, and still hold higher market value than they are posting after the losses from the incident.

Either way, yes, piss poor management. No reason for this to have escalated. And yet, as much as it sucks, they're going to stay in business. Might as well buy some stock now while it's cheap!

Uhhh, since it was only a few people instead of hundreds or thousands of their employees wouldn't that mean they have good training

So were they offering money, or just vouchers that couldn't be combined? I haven't really heard for sure, but being offered $800 cash is far more tempting than being offered 36 $50 vouchers that expire in a year and can't be combined.

I'm pretty sure they come in voucher form, not straight cash. As for if they're 36 $50 vouchers, that I don't know. But it would be reeeeallly shitty. I'd walk away from volunteering if they told me that.
