Cena proposing to nikki at this mania will likely get more mainstream attention than Bryan's win.

Tbh it's 100% fair biggest Cena getting engaged at Mania would be huge.

I really don't care how good WWE programming becomes, because their way of making programming good is to destroy every other promotion in the world, and that's bad for wrestling.

And by the way, I'd be willing to bet a fair amount of money that Omega is not going to WWE next year.

The Orton/Wyatt match is a really weird thing for me because I realized that even though I like the story quite a bit and am a decently big fan of both guys, I'm dreading the match, and not because I expect it to be bad. It's because Orton losing would be really weird, but at the same time if Bray loses it basically kills the character's credibility forever for me. It's going to be a really unsatisfying end no matter what to me.

Other way around. If WWE didn't do so much 50-50 booking, the Orton/Wyatt outcome wouldn't carry the same hangup because Bray could absorb the loss a lot easier.

Asuka is a monster that WWE can't handle though. Like, if you booked her like she is booked now, WWE would be at a loss. Charlotte is the 50/50 booking queen, but Asuka would be so terrible if she was booked like Charlotte. But if you have an unbeatable queen on a weekly show where she has to have consistent opponents over a long period of time and only like two possible opponents in the pool... she's done.

Goldberg could never happen in modern WWE.

My point was more that if not for the way he's been booked for the past few years, his current character would be working just fine and we wouldn't have to have this discussion in the first place.

If they didn't have everyone face off every five seconds, it wouldn't be a problem. We had two matches recently that shocked me: Reigns v. Mahal, and Cena v. f***ING FANDANGO!

As obvious results as those were, that's how they should be booking on a weekly basis. It would save the matches that matter for the times that actually matter. How many times did Reigns and Rollins face Owens and Jericho during the fall and winter? How many times has Nia faced Bayley? It was goddamn absurd. But WWE somehow managed to keep Reigns and Cena away from quality opponents for a week or two, making some actual fresh matchups.

If you aren't going to Goldberg/Lesnar "They only fight on PPV aka f*** you full-time guys,"" they could at least run some uneven matchups to switch things around. I wouldn't mind Owens v. Enzo or whatever.

What was that Incredibles quote? "Once everyone is special, no one will be." WWE has got to break that soon. 50-50 is their own doomsday device.

No s*** sherlock

The problem is that Orton losing kind of undoes the whole dedicating months to finally take down the Wyatts angle, but since the Wyatts have never been very relevant, Bray doing his whole more powerful than ever before routine means that if he loses he's basically impossible to take seriously as a main eventer ever again. It looks kind of derpy for whoever loses, especially Bray. Hence why I like the story, but the way it played out has meant that the outcome is kind of bad no matter what. They probably shouldn't have had Bray claiming to be Abigail's host thing now and saved it for when he leaves and comes back as you suggest.

Seems like you're looking at it completely the wrong way though. Surely the takeaway there is that these two forces have been built up, and from the way the story has played out so far there's serious doubt as to who will win. And that the villain has come up with a way to counteract the hero's big move, meaning he's a strong and dangerous opponent for the hero.

It just feels a bit like a glass half-empty approach. Yes, one of them has to lose. But that's a satisfying story. I sincerely doubt that Bray losing at WM will make you "lose faith in him forever". I really don't think there's a point where any wrestler - especially one as good as Wyatt - is truly doomed, and if such a point exists, Wyatt losing the WWE title at Wrestlemania to a top face is certainly not it. If they switched him to Raw and did a storyline where he got "imbued with a new power" and took over the entire show and beat the f*** out of everyone and was booked like a monster and had the full family back, I'm fairly sure Bray could sell that and get you invested again.

Obviously a loss hurts him - almost any pinfall loss does - but it's nothing that can't be fixed. I agree though that at some point soon I'd like to see him win one of these big, top feuds. I think Bryan is the only big feud he has ever won. Maybe Jericho if you want to count that. I really do want a months-long "Wyatts take over the show" angle someday.

The problem is that they've basically blown the biggest thing he can do. If he thinks he's channeling his mentor/prophet/god/whatever and still loses, it's pretty hard to buy the character not just giving up entirely because his whole world view just got definitely proven to be wrong. Like sure I'd still like him as a performer, but the Bray Wyatt character is basically relegated to generic midcarder from that point. I don't know how Bray can ever look like a credible main eventer if "absorbs his goddess" isn't enough to let him win

i'm confused, why does it make sense for Orton to win? so far it seems pretty clear that Bray should. Orton's been plotting this entire time, waiting for his time to strike, but along the way he messed up and loses the match as a result.

When there's a huge five month long story where the face tries to overcome the big bad heel, the face always wins. Brays whole shtick the past two weeks is almost certainly just there to make it less obvious. Even though I agree it makes sense logically that Orton f***ed up and will lose, that's not how these stories tend to work
