One of them won by over $10K yesterday, while the other one lost today by about $2K on Final Jeopardy (he was tied with another guy going in, but he missed it and the other guy got it)

got to listen to the appendix of the last proper bonfireside chat episode. good to hear they managed to fit in my response to the ringed city dlc even though it was a little long. probably helped that it was a positive one!

will be sticking around for the rest of the episodes, but once that's done, think that'll be it for me and duckfeed.

Finally getting around to The Ringed City. Got invaded pretty quick, and fought the person off, neither of us Estus'd, so it was a good and honorable fight. I forgot how great this feels.

i've no problem using estus and whatever other advantage i can have when dealing with invaders or when i'm invading. outside of fight clubs and summoning through the red soapstone for duels, everything is fair game!

oh tran what ended up happening for you with the Hacknet DLC? as far as I know there is no way to go back after you get a specific ending other than playing the DLC again

never went back. I think I probably had to replay the whole dlc? googling didn't give me a good answer.

Yes, both these things. A case too if ever plan on taking it out. I use my case to store the JoyCon straps and a microfiber cloth.

All the tempered glass protectors seem like they're the same quality. I bought an Orzly and have no complaints.

Huh. I haven't thought much about LocoRoco since my ex-wife took the original in the divorce. Might have to look into what they've done since.

Beat The Old Blood.

It's not as good as The New Order, obviously, but by the end it is really cooking and does a lot of things well. It's kind of incredible what Machine Games was able to do with B.J. as a character.

Oh and whatever DLC issues I had with Nioh were fixed with a complete reinstall.

I played and beat ABZU yesterday. It's pretty and I liked it more than Journey for whatever that's worth.

I liked the underwater wildlife theme more. Being able to ride them and swim with them is nicer than random cloth guys joining you throughout Journey

So I'm nearing the end game of Prey, and I can't help but think that this might be the last hurrah for these types of games. Deus Ex: MD, Dishonored 2, and Prey all came out within 9 months of each other, all worthwhile experiences, and while this is an embarrassment of riches, none of them set the world on fire. Maybe Bethesda shows more patience than Square, but I'm not holding my breath.

I love how this game looks, too. I don't know how much crossover exists in the artistic divisions for Arkane Lyon and Austin, but can they ever nail an aesthetic:

What Remains of Edith Finch was an AMAZING game. Mind-blowing. I really love this type of game, story driven and adventure. I played it in one sitting and cried a lot at the end so be prepped for that emotional journey.

I'm playing near the end at Horizon so I'm going to try to get all the extra stuff I can tolerate getting.

how'd you play it? yeah, that game is real good. didn't have the same impact on me as the first game, and i think some of it had to do with how hyped up the two standout levels were. i think if i had gone into them totally blind, i would have been wowed way more. not to say that i didn't find those areas incredible and fun to play through! really looking forward to the dlc, if the first game is anything to go by.

on the other hand, yeah, the minimal marketing and this dumb review policy of bethesda seems to have just hurt it and prey. don't think anyone would disagree that immersive sims are hard to demo, too.

eager to check out prey later anyway.

in terms of the main campaign, i believe i'm close to the end of inquisition. the winter palace is really good. man does this mmo/open world design really hamper this game. so easy to lose focus and find yourself just droning out. if this had just been like the previous bioware rpgs that just gave you access to the main quests and your party members' own quests, it would be so much better.

Stealth as Emily. After the opening mission, I didn't kill anyone. That was a challenge, and sometimes frustrating, but worth it. In hindsight, I should have tried to not kill anyone through the whole game. Might do a playthrough as Corvo and try it without any powers.

Vesperia is good although I'm not a big fan of it. I'll definitely say it avoided a lot of the stupidity of other titles in the series. So revise my statement to "the kind of Tales game they should have kept making after Vesperia".
