Ultimates mastered, nice that the event starts with them, even though there's only two.

Behemoth is a gimmick boss with his meteor counterstance, unless your offense consists entirely of summons and summon burst commands you need to play with the volume on to hear when his counterstance stops. I used Alph and Cid Raines since I only have one, but Cid's first burst command is instant so I only accidentally hit Behemoth in his counterstance once. Also you can't let the fight drag on too long since he has an attack that gets stronger with the more damage he takes.

I was expecting to destroy Odin with my mage team of Ashe, Raines, Alph, Tyro and Y'shtola, but he was tougher than I expected. He starts the fight with aoe Gungir so have Mako might on your medica healer or being two characters with healing spells. Also he uses Ultimate Gungir a lot when he's half health so it might have been better to bring characters with power breakdown instead of just relying on protectga and Raines defense buff. Still made short work of him with Ashe's OSB through.

Not really... It's a good banner but not Tactics or 14 good where the synergy is low but the relics' soul breaks are amazing. Lann's OSB needs Reynn in the party to boost damage and his BSB is a poor man version of Steiner's. Reynn's BSB is really good but she has competition against Serah and Edea. The only thing that makes the WoFF twins stand out is that they do summon damage with their soul breaks.

There's better banners coming up so I wouldn't recommend spending mythril on Beyond banners unless Dena has a change of heart about Global getting colab events or you're desperate about beating the summon Nightmare bosses.

somehow i still have 0 relics for Ashe. spent 50 way back on a banner with her SSB, 250 on the BSB, 200 on the OSB. none of them.

somehow i still have 0 imperil holy relics, even though i think i've pulled for them at every opportunity. granted, only 50 per banner before this.

and i didn't get Orlandu's OSB either.

at least i got Ramza's chant. i'm now ready for Cloud USB meta.

The worst players are people who equip Mako Might and use OSBs at the start, even if Ramza/Onion Knight are in their team (unless they're Orlandeau who's using it for Thunder God mode.)

The best times to do multiplayer is on Sunday when they first show up or use the Reddit or Board 8 room.

Spent 50 mithril on Banner 4, and got one relic. But it was Deployment Tactics, which allowed me to (after several failures) manage a stall clear of Nemesis!

Relm (Cura/Guts BSB, Lionheart RM)
Alphinaud (Radiant Shield SSB, Mako Might RM)
Tyro (Wall SB, Pro/Shell/MagicBlink BSB, Dr Mog RM)
Lenna (Cura/Reraise BSB, Doublecast White RM)
Minwu (Haste/Regen BSB, CT0 Curaga SSB, Knight's Charge RM)
RW: Edge CT0 Haste-Blink-Guts

The basic strategy should be fairly clear: use Radiant Shield and spam healing. You do also need some source of damage (I had Minus Strike on Tyro and not-entirely-negligible entry damage from Relm's holy/non BSB) because at the start of Phase 2, Nemesis hits you with Doom. I actually didn't have enough damage to win the fight before the Doom timer ran out, but I did have Reraise, such that when Alphinaud and Minwu died during phase 3 I was able to get them back in fighting condition (which, by that point in the fight, is "unit has Radiant Shield and Guts active"). I do not have much respect for FFRK Reraise, but the moments when it actually does contribute are all the more glorious for that. Heck, if I'd remembered to use Tyro's -Atk/Mag burst command, I'd have mastered.

Special cheese tip: You know how in Orbfest, when you kill one enemy and it drops an Orb, no one can act until the Orb disappears from the battlefield, even though ATB meters keep filling? Apparently, the same kind of situation happens when FFRK is waiting to register an activation of Guts or Radiant Shield (or, apparently, Reraise). Well, given what worked for me, I'd suggest Relm / Alphinaud / Tyro / Ashe / Minwu. Tyro gets Wrath/Entrust, Ashe gets Curaga/Haste, Alphinaud gets a healing spell and Faith, and Relm and Minwu both take a healing spell and Protectga or Shellga. I had Lenna, which meant an extra healing burst and Reraise for emergencies; you have Ashe's BSB/OSB combo, which means you have a damage source that is not Radiant Shield. Once Ashe's near three full bars, have Alphinaud Faith her, and then she can do BSB, OSB, OSB, receive entrusted SB from Tyro, and hopefully two more OSBs. (Even though Nemesis resists lightning, it should be worth setting up with the BSB, as long as you can rely on getting at least three SBs off and are not set back statwise by equipping Durandal and Ashe's Defiance.)

was it just me or was Kuja like, by far the hardest MP fight so far? god, it must have taken me at least 10 tries. ended up finally winning a slow fight with a very support/healing-focused team. Tyro, OK, Ramza, Y'shtola, Vanille, and Eiko with the usual SBs except Eiko with USB instead of BSB. my Seph enDark + OSB combo did most of the damage, and a Zidane with just his enWind SSB (and that 5* wind thief ability) was the only other damage dealer. it was so slow i almost ran out of a rank 5 lifesiphon. but i'll admit, it was pretty satisfying to get in all those OSBs for 90k+ damage while constantly being able to wrath to maintain stoneskin and get in a clutch heal near the end.

I think one of the problems with it was that bads really screw you up more than usual. If you hit the final phase without mitigation and buffs freshly applied and full SB gauges you are in trouble, and if you have crappy teammates who don't have everything ready you are going to wipe.

My bet is a b8 group could beat it at a 90% clip

The hardest were Barthandelus because of his ultimate dispel and how stupid fast he was, he'd magic nuke you with little to no time to heal or put up shellga, and that fight took forever and bored you to frustration in the first two phases. Or the Black Knights with their status effects and how the last 4 would spam aoe piercing attacks and could fuck you over before you can recover.

Oh and Lady Amandine as well when she'd summon her demons. If they decided to just spam AoE spells you'd lose, I think that fight also came out before the FF14 banner with Last Stand and Stoneskin so FF14 synergy was rare.

His ultimate Double Flashing blade, which was scripted, and happened 3 or 4 times, usually pretty quickly in succession was cancer...

The BKs were easy if you used all your AoE SBs at the start of phase 3. 3 of them had really low hp and went down in one round.

i may have just gotten lucky on the knights. went full mage meta with Alph + Raines, the rest of the party filled out similarly and they just melted. did have a couple wipes before winning but that happens just about every event.

Barth, i don't remember super well. was that the event Raines' BSB came out in? if it was before that i'm pretty sure i was using Vaan + Y'shtola because that was about my only useful contribution to most groups at the time. if that is what i was using, it was mostly on me whether we'd be successful or not (wall + Vaan BSB is some pretty good survivability against magic), which makes sense as to why i'd win after just a couple wipes.

but yeah i remember Seph being a pain now that i think about it. and i don't remember what i actually won with. Yuffie (w/ insta blink SSB) + Y'shtola, perhaps? that might have been the second-worst for me.

i guess what was different about Kuja was i tried a million different setups and they all kept failing. though a lot of that is simply that i haven't had nearly as many options in MP as i do now. got shout+chant, Raines BSB, Eiko BSB, my first enElement + OSB combo, and my first holy OSB when imperil holy is super common in MP. all of that stuff i got in the last few weeks.

Trying to put together my Nemesis party. I'm thinking two healers are needed, Alphinaud for both his burst, and deployment tactics, Tyro for wall and dances, and OK for his burst (so I can keep up haste as often as possible). I have Vaan's burst too, would he be a better option?

Also, in terms of healers, I have Relm for sure, but can't use Y'shtola because I have Alphinaud. I have Rosa's burst, which I think is the best as my second healer.
