okay so I've been away for over a year now (when the level cap was 80)

but there was an easter push notification for FREE DRAW and I couldn't pass that up. did that and a few others, now sorting out what I have.

If I were to come back for realz, which of these people are worth using (besides Sephiroth, who I know is pretty swoll). You have shout and Arc Blast so I'd add Ramza and Vaan in your party, you also have Edge's Red Jacket which is also really good. You'll want a healer BSB if you're going to go after Ultimates but seems like the only one you have is Tiny Bee, so you'll probably have to rely on Y'shtola's Medica II for the time being. Looks like you'll have to RW Wall since you lack Sentinel's Grimoire and Stoneskin II.

Abilities you should have and hone are lifesiphon/wrath for SB building, Ultra Cure, Gaia's Cross, Banishing Strike, Shellga/protectga, Dismissal, Full Break and Multi Break. And try to r2 Chain ____ga's for black mages.

Motes are little collectable orbs you get from events that you can use to permanently power up your level 65+ characters, they're usually stat boosts but sometimes when given enough motes a character can use new/higher * skills, equip new weapons or get status resists. Getting 4* motes is difficult though since the main ways to get them are from mote dungeons or d200+ multiplayer bosses.

4 Mythril away from a 50 pull on 11. Gotta pull on it purely because of the sheer amount of years I spent playing that game. Tad bittersweet now I'm no longer with my wife though

Ayame Super and Prishe Super. Yay for nostalgia but boooo for no BSBs so hard to incorporate into real parties

Now gotta decide if I want to try farm 50 again

Ayame's super is really good through, instant party haste, 5 wind Aoe attacks, single shout level boost so it doesn't overwrite it, wish I got it. I still have 60 mythril and kinda want to do another pull but eh, I think I need to save for two pulls on the next FFT Banner.

Also I never played FFXI but why can't Lion use swords if she's apparently a pirate and even Prishe can use swords? Seems so odd.

Lion was dagger and fist only in XI but Prishe never used anything except her fists (and feet!) so god knows

Lion can also use bows and thrown in Record Keeper, not sure if that's canon or not.

Prishe has a really good moveset actually, white 4*, combat 5*, Celerity 5*. Monk 5*. I think once I level her up and master her soul breaks I'll replace Beatrix with her occasionally as my semi-second healer/protectga/shellga/offense hybrid.

Both their skillsets match up decently well to canon except for Prishe being able to uses Swords, that's the real outlier.

Lion is from the pirate town but in XI the pirate town is actually full of Ninja's. They didn't add a more traditional Pirate job (corsair) until after Lion's initial story was over. Arguably Lion should get Support too given the nature of her debuffs in XI (stat downs plus stun, dispel, bind and dots)

The lure of actually having FF11 relics drew me in. Came out with Lion's BSB and SSB, and Curlia's SSB. I only really wanted Lion's BSB going in, so this haul is pretty damn good by my standards!

I got Shantotto Burst for 100 gems. I love those unexpected rainbows in realms where I don't have anything. I'll leave it at that, and save my mythril for other banners.

YEEEESHHH I beat the fucking d240 Mandragoras! People kept kicking me probably because I was bringing Vayne and he's capped at level 80 but when I finally joined a dark nuke team Vayne was one of the last 4 standing. Such sweet, delicious irony!

I'm trying to think of when the Sweet spot was.

The game sucked when it was just Advantilate everything....

But like,god, shit like Nemesis and Mandragoras, and Chain SB's, and Ultra SB's..... It's just so much.

Maybe Lifesiphon Meta was the most fun?

That is the time of SSB, before BSB's came, so it was still about hones kinda, and the characters mattered more, instead of JUST the relics, after the raised the Magic Cap, that made it so you could do both Mage Meta and Physical meta and be fine, and you could lifesiphon till you had the bar and then hit with your Supers, and use your other techs. I believe only U+ existed at that time, nothing like the hell on Earth some of them are now, while still being challenging, especially in weak phase.

Yeah, we agree then.

The hype I got for pulling Organics and Platinum Sword far exceeds any other relic I ever pulled (except Buster Sword for reasons....) and I think that says alot about the game now.

That was all back during your whaling days too.

Now granted that I haven't taken on THE hardest stuff like the Nightmare Dungeons, Mote Dungeons, or Torments, but it still feels like I can take on most of the content with just Shout + Wall.

But I will say that I don't really like how the power creep has gotten to the point where if you don't pull a BSB or above, the relic just feels underwhelming most of the time. The one notable exception of course being Platinum Sword and the Wall relics.

If anything the game just has just been feeling same-y for awhile, which is a problem that almost all mobile games go through at some point. Like the U++ fight always felt like a pointless addition, they tend to not be much harder than the U+ fight, as if it was added just to give us one extra "Ultimate" fight.

Enjoy the Ultimate+s while they last. We're getting a difficulty increase in a few weeks starting with the FFX event, ultimate+ will be gone and we'll have d200 bosses.
