Beat the Black Knight apocalypse with a mage team in reddit's room. These guys are a lot harder than I anticipated, especially when that last knight spams trample. Arc's physical blink is a godsend (pun intended)

Black Knight Apocalypse mastered

Holy **** you guys, I was actually the MVP of the damn battle if I do say so myself. The first wave was no problem, but things started to go wrong at the end of the second wave, when an Ultimate Tromp killed off Lightning. We still managed to set up Wall and Protectga, but then an unlucky Ultimate Tromp and Tromp combo killed off Ramza, Cloud, AND TGC in one fell swoop! I still have no idea how Tyro survived. That's when I realized that the Maria player ran out of Meteor harges and had to use Curaise to raise her SB Bar. That's when I switched from using the USB to the BSB... and by god it's still awesome. Penelo took care of the healing, so it was up to Vanille to mop up the remnants, and thankfully she managed to get rid of the weaker remaining Black Knights with her Command, and a timely BSB use after Maria raised Cloud enabled it to finish off the last Black Knight with a Finishing Touch.

Icing on the hell yeah cake was me mastering Convalescence from beating the battle

Now to time when exactly I want to do the rest of the FF II event and Raid stages...

Ultimates mastered.

Borghen was easy, other than his magic attacks nothing he had was that damaging, and Vaan's BSB neutered his magic. That was pretty funny how his boulder attack hurts himself for 9999 damage through.

Human Emperor was harder than he should have because I forgot shellga and kept protecta on Y'shtola, but once Vaan got his BSB off things became a lot smoother. Orlandeau + Beatrix were doing mad damage with their Holy BSBs against him and he went down quick, even with his elixir.

Angel Emperor is a diffrent story, his ultimate dispel + slowga combo is brutal, especially if he has a counter haste up! He gets a lot of spells off when you're slowed and the first time he hit my team with Starfall right after they were slowed and did 8000+ damage to everyone even after a Vaan BSB! I had to keep Tyro and Y'shtola's actions in reserve to get shellga and wall back up ASAP after he does it. He does it twice in the fight , I used RW shout on the first time but I also kept a soul break bar on Vaan, Beatrix and Orlandeau to give them haste after he does dispell/slowga a second time.

Did they use the Final Boss Emperor yet?

I think they just used normal, ghost (in the Realm dungeon) and Angel Mateus. You also fight Angel Mateus earlier in the event as a +++ boss.

Yeah that U++ Emperor was no joke. Even that AOE physical attack was quite strong. Was a race at the end to kill him before he used Starfall after the second slowga. Thankfully Jecht's burst went off and did the trick.

The only way to really have a chance, is to take out the other 3 knights at the very beginning of phase 3 with AoE before they can attack. That's what my team was lucky enough to do. Even one of them is still enough of a bitch to make it hard though.

Yeah you have to get rid of the weaker 3 knights before they chain Trompx3 + Ultimate Tromp on you

The first wave can never use Tromp. The second wave use it every four turns. The third wave use it every three turns. So if you're having trouble, I'd suggest you take the first wave slow, and use it to build up SB meter so that you can blitz through the second and third.

Also it's really helpful to have someone with physical blink and guts. If possible try to join with someone who got Edge's Red Jacket.

So apparently they buffed two trash 6* Nightmare abilities (Ultima and Neo Bahamut), a good one (Dervish), and showed that they hate Monks by buffing something that really didn't need to be buffed (Omega Drive)

Also it snuck up on me that the weekly event starts tonight. Looks like there's going to be a lot of stuff this week which is why it was bumped up. The new dailies have been datamined as well.

Y'sholas burst is good!

The problem with healing BSSB is you need one, but once you get one all the rest are kind of meh.


So if you had a burst heal before this might be marginally better sometimes! If not then it is amazing.

I have Vanilles BSSB, and it would take something ridiculous to make a substantial power boost to my team. I even pulled Aerieths USB and i still like Vanilles more in most situations.

Cleared all the Record missions and current FF6 event dungeons, currently at 279 mythril. Gonna pull on the next two lucky draws but there's going to be a 50 mythril dungeon soon anyway, and with the daily dungeon and Orbfest refreshes I should have 300 for the Anniversary banners :)
