See, I thought guardians were fun because I didn't know you could Stasis them and had to alternate between blasting their eye, spinning around with a travelers greatsword, or the best was when I fought one on horseback.

That was a great time. Bowl over the guardians with a horse - flips then easy.

See, that's the thing - there's so much you can do with the combat that it's actually a really deep system. Everyone plays differently and thinks differently and it caters to however you approach it. Never even thought about going against a guardian on a horse. I pretty much never use horses for anything

Hit a point where I have the confidence to just go walk up and destroy a Guardian without fear instead of running for my life at the first laser target.

Probably could have done this a long time ago but the game really trains you early on to avoid Guardians like the plague.

So a bit ago I arrived at Zora's Domain. I love the dynamic of this place - the elders who all hate Link, the way the youth acts... character design is just great here. And then everyone's subtle hints and not so subtle hints about Mipha...

Almost got a little teary-eyed during the memory scene.

I think the first 60 hours of the game I only fought Guardians with Shield Parries.

I started the game over so I could show it to my niece earlier this afternoon, and when I got in front of the bomb trial and the Guardian started preparing its laser, I started running around in circles screaming OH MY GOD PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE. She was legitimately scared, and then at the last second, I pulled out my Pot Lid and killed it with a parry. I'm really glad I pulled it off first try or I would've looked like a jackass.

No, you don't need it. I don't have any and I completed the Compendium.

...but speaking of that, for anyone else who completed it: Do you have any idea what, if anything, you can do with the envelope you get from the Tech Lab as a reward? It feels like it's supposed to go somewhere but... I couldn't figure it out. Unless it's just a red herring and nothing happens with it other than proof you completed it.

Master Sword get!

Took a break after completely exploring the eastern side of the map last week and finishing Death Mountain on Monday. Had to put some time into NieR and Andromeda.

Back to it with half of the map explored, minus shrines I probably missed and koroks I definitely missed.

Time to sweep west towards Hebra, then down into Gerudo, then finally up into the center and Hyrule Castle.

murderin' Silver Lynels feels good when they can now do at most only about 1.25-1.5 hearts worth of damage to me per hit

The worst is when the light hits a tree.

Means that I won't materialize when you get close.

Happened three times to me.

I'm trying to decide whether to go north or south after finishing lanayru. Any particular reason to really want to go one way over another?

North is a dungeon

South is more shrines and koroks

The South especially I feel had the largest concentration of koroks in the game

Are there upgrades I'd particularly want from Akkala/Eldin?

heat resistant armor is required to walk around death mountain but pretty much nowhere else

there's also a helm you would want from the upper right corner of the map

I guess I could do Akkala them sweep south... or just keep going counter clockwise

For what it's worth after done with whole lanryu area I went north of hyrule castle and moved right then after I was done with that I started in the lower right and worked clockwise

of course this means I did the rito dungeon last which people say you should do first

which I kinda agree but I don't think it's such a massive gamechanger that you should go out of your way if you don't feel like

Geez, I've yet to see anything near that crazy. From what I've heard both the drops and enemy spawns get stronger all around the world depending on how many total monsters you've killed? Not sure of the details but it sounds like I've got a long way to go. (Which is a shame, I'm about to beat the game just because I don't have any more time I can sink into it without neglecting all the other amazing stuff I really want to play. D:)

Annnnd beat. Great game! Most certainly a case of journey > destination but I don't think this game ever put forth any illusion of caring about its end game. Very comfortable calling this my second favorite Zelda game. Majora's Mask will forever be on top but this came closer to it than I ever expected another Zelda would.

Okay, so was the "apparatus" Shrine the one everyone's complaining about? Cause I literally did it in my first try. Admittedly the first time was an accident, I waved my arm when I wasn't ready and it still made it in, but it was still pretty easy.

There are multiple ones. The one people probably complain about is the one at the village. Honestly, I cheated on it and did it in a way i dont think was intended, but whatever.

I got all the shrines and picked up my tunic of the wild I went with purple with it. Right now I'm working on upgrading but you need 3 star fragments and I hate farming those. So boring and RNG based, ugh.

200 something korok seeds, all beasts and shrines done.

I finished all of Kass's quests and I thought someone said he had a final quest for you back in Rito Village but I didn't get a quest from him. So idk about that. I love Kass though, wish we could get more of he and his master's back story.

Earlier in my playthrough I was pretty set on at least getting all the shrines, if not upgrading all the armor too, but now that I've done all the Divine Beasts and filled in the entire map, I think I'm just going to get my last two memories and finish up. Still ~40 shrines to go and I don't have even have enough rupees to unlock the 4th Great Fairy, but shrine hunting and materials grinding isn't as much fun to me without a larger objective to work towards at the same time, plus I need to clear the deck for Persona
