That was 2003, yeah.

The Titans were the better team that year, for the record, so the "example" would be Peyton, not McNair!

That season for McNair was one of the most amazing performances I've seen because he literally couldn't practice for half the season because he was so injured and still balled out every week.

You mean the year the Colts swept you and got farther in the playoffs, the Titans were better? What? I think we beat you guys 33-7 and 29-27 that year, and would have made the Super Bowl if receivers didn't drop like 10 balls in the AFC title game.

And the Titans only lost to the Pats because Drew Bennett dropped a 4th down pass in literally one of the coldest playoff games ever.

Also don't forget the 4 Peyton INTs in that game, too. The Colts were never in that game. "If only we hadn't played so badly we would've won!"

Nash's numbers were crazy back then, and the year after too (Dirk was just better) and Shaq spent a lot of time in a incredibly stacked league where he was probably runner up multiple times

Lebron's definitely in that Jordan class where he's clearly the best in the league but doesn't kill himself to put up numbers so we give the award to guys that do like Harden or Westbrook. we did that with Malone and Barkley in the 90s too.

so yeah we can give the award to Harden and he might even deserve it, but if the Rockets and Cavs meet in the finals you can bet that Harden won't be the guy everyone has their eyes on.

People that don't think Kawhi belongs in the discussion need their head examined. He's a DPOTY-caliber defender where guys like Westbrook and Harden are legitimately defensive liabilities, and his offensive contributions aren't significantly lower than theirs.

And the rest of the Spurs have an image of being better than they actually are right now. LMA is doing his best Boris Diaw cosplay and all of their other big contributors like Gasol and Parker have been very inconsistent. If they end up with the 1-seed, it's going to be almost entirely on the back of Kawhi Leonard.

In my book Leonard has the same problems as Westbrook only with lebron in his way instead of harden.
