BotW Amiibo will probably be common in like a month or two, personally I'm waiting for Bokoblin and Zelda to go on sale, I always seem to regret buying Amiibo day one these days since they seem to end up less than 10 bucks two months later. Only BotW Amiibo I currently own is the Guardian.

Also didn't Retro Studios propose a Sheik spin off game but Miyamoto denied them? This is the probably the closest we'll ever get to that.

Smash Toon Link is likely not going to be reprinted thanks to the Zelda version being released, so he's been the most valuable amiibo for a while now.

Ah crud, I've been meaning to replace my Smash Link ever since the dog chewed off his arms and left him underfoot to get crushed. Now I can't even find the base to use the in-game stuff either. At least my Smash Zelda and Sheik are still in good shape. Wish I'd grabbed Ganondorf when I had the chance.

I got BotW Link and Zelda at the midnight launch. Really want the Guardian just because it looks awesome.

I don't think there's any difference between Smash and Toon Link's NFC chip so the only reason to go out your way is if you prefer the Smash pose.

after you finish the plateau you turn on the amiibo option from the main menu then that gives you the Amiibo Rune to use with the L button

Actually I don't think you have to finish the plateau. I used mine after getting the first rune. You just have to turn the option on.

I never bought Smash Zelda, Sheik, or Ganondorf because I just didn't like those ones. They were on clearance like a month ago and I considered getting them but all the BotW amiibo reports at the time talked about the anniversary and BotW ones working. Nobody seemed to be able to confirm the Smash ones did anything special until after the game was in people's hands, and by that time they were already hard to come by.

I found Zelda and a Japanese Ganondorf on Amazon for under $20 each but Sheik seemed to be going for $60-$75.

There's been datamining as well as physical guide books leaking stuff like the Skyward Sword tunic and Fierce Deity Link as Amiibo costumes, there's also data for a Twilight Princess Link amiibo which will probably give the same rewards as Smash Link.
