I've been playing it for like a month now I think and I'm only in Novigrad having just finished the Get Junior quest.

you're like a third of the way into the game.

Oh, man I thought I had a ton more to go. I guess that's just if I feel like exploring every inch of the world then. I feel like I've barely been to any of Velen/Novigrad based on how many ?s are on the map still.

that's just a rough estimate on the main plot. there's a lot of game in there. I explored every inch of the world and finished the game in 140 hours, but mileage will vary. I'd recommend going after every sidequest that seems like it has story attached; you never know where you'll end up.

i'd be fine with a bigger fee and what not if it meant there would be some actual quality control but this just sounds like a way to do the same thing greenlight is doing, but with even less oversight from valve

I don't know what kind of quality control I'd want on Steam. Ideally, Steam would hire people to moderate their platform to ensure people aren't abusing it or the community, and to make sure that clones and Unity asset-flips don't make it. beyond that...?? I dunno. more than what they have now, at least.

itch.io and Humble and other places are cool but they're not suddenly going to become widely viable independent markets because the financial hurdle is too high for the Emily is Aways of the world.

spent about 2 hours last night trying to perfect a method to get to the suite where the elusive target is in hitman. after multiple frustrating restarts (you can do that as long as you haven't started doing any of the objectives), i looked up the one disguise that would allow me to get in that guarded area without getting immediately shot dead and the location of the other objective. with that knowledge, i made one last attempt wearing that particular disguise, nearly getting caught multiple times by just winging the entire thing, and somehow managed to get silent assassin.

what a butt-clenchingly great game this is that doesn't give a f*** about your stupid plans

I got my first platinum. Nioh is so good ugh I wish I had people to talk about it with. I love everything about it and honestly it might be one of my favorite games ever.

I started gravity rush 2 last night and so far it's adorable and feels good.

I saw the Splasher quick look and it looked really good. I had seen a trailer of the game previously and wasn't super impressed but I went and bought it and it's VERY FUN.

I love it when indie devs go against the grain for the follow-up to a mega hit. Takes a lot of ambition and talent. Rogue Legacy didn't speak to me and that trailer didn't grab me but I'll be following it for sure and hope for the best.

Night in the Woods is out tomorrow! Anyone getting it? There's a PS+ discount. Not sure when that expires.

This year is already crazy four months in.

it makes sense. indie devs have been holding down the fort this gen but it took until now for Japanese devs and teams making open world games to really come into their own

Mostly talking about stuff coming out in March and April.

But even January and February had Tales, Gravity Rush 2, Nioh, Horizon, Resident Evil and For Honor. Edit: Yakuza 0 too.

Not all of those are my cup of tea, but that's a lot for the first two months of the year.
