Yeah the lat entrants had an enormous advantage because the voters were just not awake.

Had wigs gone to bed, the rumble literally would have dragged on for like 2 more hours

I stopped voting after Apollo was eliminated. It would have made things quicker, but I didn't want to influence anything after that point.

That's really always going to be an issue with the rumble format. It takes 14 hours just to get everybody in, so there's gonna be some part of it that's at a goofy time no matter what.

I feel like back in my era we did afternoon to afternoon for some reason?

yeah, which led to a couple people who came in during the middle winning, like JONA who won from like 11 or 12 because he entered at like 2 AM and was allowed to be in the ring with a lot of hit points for a while.

However, instead, the early entrants were just TOTAL fodder, but the end went a lot faster

I tried to hold out as long as I could, but after 17 hours of voting I had to go to sleep.

However, similar to Strife, after I got eliminated I didn't want to influence anything so I only hurt those I knew wouldn't win.

it kinda led to a fun situation where we had a pretty strong final 4, which cinematically speaking worked quite well.

Well, the nice thing about having the night fall when first half entrants are still coming in means you get this big pool of entrants all fighting at the same time overnight, so by the time you wake up everyone is invested.

And then the lower entrants (bar maybe first 5 or so) have a legit chance of lasting through the rumble because they're not being focused on.

The wolves are always there at the Rumble! Ask Dp from last year - the wolves were definitely there! They just let me be their feeder because they think that I'm pretty fun!

I was referring to the Tom era rumbles where we started at like 2 or 3 and everyone was there for the beginning.

1-5 were out as fast as they were in just because people were eager to participate.

We had a bigger userbase back then too though.

I didn't even realize the Rumble was happening until I saw the post for the 2nd topic this morning and it was already over.

I mean, it wouldn't have changed my personal spot, but in my occasional lurking skim of B8 I didn't catch anything Rumble related all yesterday. Would've been fun to participate a bit more. Maybe I'm just slow or something.

Everything was delayed. I nearly delayed to next week because of it, I had a feeling it might happen.

A thought irritated me about that whole WotR fiasco though and I feel the need to make something absolutely abundantly clear in case there was any doubt whatsoever.

Then this post turned into a rather long rant about things which I might regret but oh well.

@eaedwards6400 's utterly pathetic attempt at detective work after the match was demonstrably not the reason why I backed down. That's the first thing I want to say. His rabid posting of screenshots like this was an Ace Attorney game and he'd caught me in a contradiction were actually hilarious. I wonder now if the f***ing cornered theme was playing in the background as he posted them. At least in his head, anyway. I openly and brazenly rallied and cheated in that match and you posting the screenshots by dramatically revealing your Discord account which you still have (oh s***!) means nothing.

I just don't want you walking away from this with some kind of sense of self-satisfaction as if you, you, had any control over decisions I have made. So now that's clear, let's move on to reality.

Two things led to me backing down and disqualifying WotR. One of them was @Tom_Bombadil. I was irritated by his very, very ignorant suggestion that I haven't changed in four years. WotR's record reign in 2012 was founded on the back of multiple rallies solely because we wanted the record. That was it. We wanted it and took it, through cheating, then lost the titles in a satisfactory angle. But mostly it was self-interest and wonton abuse of power for personal gain.

Meanwhile on this occasion there was a genuine attempt to make Mania better. Full disclosure, I wanted WotR vs. Empire. I'd reveal I infiltrated the Empire to bring it down from within because they were threatening WotR's status, as well as its record reign. It would explain why I got rid of Tera and disappeared Shad, it would explain the Empire's downturn. It would explain why the super team of DP and Sultan appeared when they were just a month away from the record. Etc etc.

I had to come up with that after Plan A for Epopmania IX, @Steiner, disappeared - entirely his prerogative and I had months to reschedule and I kind of expected it anyway after he failed to stick the landing on that eaed feud last year. Good UCAer, to flaky to rely on for something like this. The one I'm most mad at is @TheKnightOfNee - I planned a feud with him that he liked, then he completely disappeared without telling anybody. At least let me know what's going on so I can reschedule jeez. I actually hope he's ok if anything because his sudden departure was very worrying. But I wasted my "I passed Boko on the all-time list!" promo attacking him specifically to set up a Mania feud that he didn't execute.

So my third option, and a good option, was WotR vs. EoS. And with your Mania main eventer as tag champ and eddv telling me privately he had a plan for Mania (this wound up being a misunderstanding on my part which is the second reason for me taking the DQ, after Tom's sheer ignorance) it felt fine for us to take the tag titles to arrange a good and exciting angle. Not a great one - we had a very similar rivalry with NLK but this would presumably have had promo work from Shad and Stifled while Wigs was always absentee in that regard - but a fun one for all involved.
