In the last couple pages, @Leanaunfurled came in and I know she's like one of a few really big fans of that series. Great VN, though, I really liked it, even if it started off a bit slow.

It does start kind of slow but honestly, I liked it. The characters are interesting enough that just watching them interact was great.

off the list we have in here, really interesting so far. Furuiro Meikyuu Rondo looks like it could have some interesting mechanics based on what I read so I may do that after.

It's definitely drawing me in so far. I'm at the part where MC escaped from Abyss after having his first encounter with them, and just found out from his friend that the Abyss member he fought goes to his school (although of course he himself doesn't know this yet). I'm wondering what happened to the girl that said Abyss member was (according to him) trying to save now... I'm guessing dead.

Also I ended up liking MinDead Blood quite a bit except for pretty much all the parts with Azuma the sadistic teacher. Not because of the content but rather because I have no idea why he got so much screen time and had like 20 different torture scenes that dragged on forever

Has anybody read that Narcissu 10th Anniversary? I mean the new stuff, the Little Iris and Zero and whatever the third one is. I see it for 30 bux on Steam and I've already read Narcissu and Narcissu 2nd so I'm just wondering the new stuff is substantial or if it feels more like add-ons just for the sake of add-ons

Ah, that intro part is really cool yea, especially the line about Abyss killing for any reason. There's a walkthrough on VNDB if you need it but it's possible without one (there's a mandatory route order and you unlock a new choice in the common route each time you finish one).

Yea, I'm not really sure why they made so many scenes about that either. Some of the scenes with the housewife and the singer were kind of unnecessary too. If the content didn't bother you then you should check out some of their other VNs.

I actually read Gore Screaming Show right before I read MinDead Blood. I liked that more actually, I was more into the story. (GSS) the Akane, Kiika and Aoi routes were just OK, not terrible or anything however. The Yamiko and Yuka routes were really good though and really drew me in

The name made me expect some extreme splatterfest but it wasn't that graphic or anything actually, to me. I'll read more of their stuff in the future but I read two back to back so felt like doing something else.

Also I noticed that the weird pink haired girl from GSS was the same as the one in Mindead Blood like way later than I should have.

Yeah the main three routes generally followed the same pattern with The girl and Kyouji getting together, Gore and Yuka start to torment her, Yoshiki dies, then either the pendant defeats Gore or Yuka just kind of gives up when she realizes Kyouji won't like her. However it was mostly Yuka/Gore and all the horror stuff that happened that kept it interesting despite the repetition, then the final two routes break the pattern. Honestly I couldn't help but sympathize/root for Yoshiki a bit considering what he saw and what was done to his wife. I was glad when he finally didn't die in the end

I was looking into Extravaganza and Gun-Katana by Black Cyc as well but that will be in a while as I don't want to burn myself out on this type of VN. I was looking at VNDB and it doesn't really look like they make games anymore? They had one new one coming out but the staff seemed different.

I did notice the singer being the same, took me a while for the pink haired girl. Pretty sure it wasn't meant to be the same character but it was the same character design and a really similar name.

Finished Fu-chan route in Clannad. On Misae now, don't know if its the full route though cause I played blindly again.

I also felt kind of like they could've done more with the Mashiro route since there were kind of still a lot of questions left unanswered after that. It would even be cool if they made some kind of sequel VN eventually maybe with Gore coming back and more answers about the stone being given.

I was thinking of reading Gun-Katana too but couldn't find any walkthroughs for it so didn't really bother since without one I imagine you'd have to replay the FPS parts a lot. They seem to still make games every once in a while, like a sequel for Extravaganza came out last year after 10 years which was kind of strange. You should avoid anything not made by Metawo or Banya though, since they're pretty much just storyless H games.

I thought those parts were cool too, I actually kind of feel like the opening scene of Abyss is supposed to be a reference to GSS since it kind of copies that formula of introducing someone and then having them be attacked.

Can definitely do that if I read it in Japanese, but if I read the translation I may miss it because my pure listening isn't that great. Either way I'll keep that part in mind for when/if I end up reading it.

I was thinking that it was going to go with the "she's just crazy" route for a second (although that Katayama guy did seem to see/know something from back then as well) but it looks like Akira really did do something to her and possibly others... makes all of his "blackouts" from earlier seem like something not so good possibly happened during them. Maybe he even killed his own family members or something like that.

Also the male friend with the orange hair (Ryuuichi I think?) is a serious pain to understand sometimes although I do manage to do it.

That part is pretty cool, like the author is really good at revealing just enough to keep you interested. I hated Ryuuichi's kansai too, especially when he used double and triple negatives. If you look at http://amaterasu.tindabox.net/guide/AGT.php#kansai then it should become more readable though
