So...I went to the Praline/Barbarossa sidequest. This singing guy is a riot, lol. I still haven't met Suleiman yet and I haven't decided who to pick either. I didn't really really like either job last time, but I'm leaning Performer. Especially now that I have Patissier to lower enemy's status.

I heard a few of the characters from the last game are actually dead. Is that true? Or are they just retired?

I think any of the asterisk holders from last game that don't show up are dead. The chemist is an example, pretty sure he died. As well as Victor and Victoria.

Yeah, I noticed Victor's all damage null skill got transferred to Bishop, and the element immunity thing to Astrologian. And the Arcanist's status effects to Pattisier.
Too bad, really, I REALLY like the Spiritmaster look.

Anyway, finished the song quest. Defeated Praline, which wasn't a tough choice story-wise. But I'm not in any hurry using Performer. Didn't use it either back in the first game.

And wow the Old Sagitta Dungeon is pretty fun with the trick walls and floor.

Right, so a lot of things happened. The purple pen guy is actually Altair Ibn La-ahad, the inventor guy who created ancient pressure cooker and health juicers or something. He possessed Tiz.

Then the creepy Geist guy came in and haxxed his way, but we overloaded the SP tank and beat him. Exorcist Asterisk GET! This will be a lot of fun to play with.

We also learned that the metal plates made the Sagitta village float, so we probably asked the elder to strip them down to make a nice airplane.

But while we wait we have to go to the Water Temple since the Evil Fortress and Kaiser are there...up to no good, I'm sure!

P.S. with all these talks of time and space, I'm kinda 90% sure the reason we can revisit the battles and get the other asterisks will be because of the SP/hourglass/time travel shenanigans.

Their deaths were shown on-screen, IIRC? But it's been a while, maybe someone can fill me in.

The first world you go through in BD (which I think is the one you go back to?) shows plenty of them dying and then coming back in this game though. In fact, I thought you killed all of them except Braev and Praline. <_<

(that's not entirely a complaint though, as the old asterisk holders are better than the new ones)

Didn't mean they had to die, just go off somewhere else like the beaches. Did it every say they died? Do anyone mention them? Hell, this could be a parallel world where they never existed

To be fair Victor said Victoria was going die soon anyway thanks to the fits, they were growing intensity and eventually he wouldn't be able to cure them. Victor probably decided to follow suit after dedicating his life to her

I'm not sure if it was a daughter, but he was paying for some kid. Honestly I assume that he paid off the debt and settled down.

Oh, and Qada probably bit the dust for evil schemes at some point or another

Actually I started the boss fight! Anne appeared and summoned this weird flying gadget thing, with our favorite bumbling cops helplessly stuck on it.

The magic attack kinda hurt, but Undo and potion + White Wind made it all better. Theeen it changed to physical attack. Robots!

Now to hope that during the weekend the cartridge hadn't gotten dislodged and I have to redo the boss fight again.

Okay, welp, my 3DS battery had run out so I restarted the battle. Some characters got one-shotted from the Thwack-drop attack, but there wasn't too much trouble really. Then...I barely healed any and got into another battle with Nikolai. DAMMIT.

Ah well, I used a lot of special attacks, including from friend summons and got away. But now the four crystals are running amok which means...other world shenanigans, yay!

But before that, let's do this subquest first. Apparently the Grand Ship tax is crazy. And I'll get to choose between...Alternis?! And probably Khmer or whoever the Time Mage guy is.

New dungeon. Since the suggested level is at 46, I finally turned on the exp gain again. Aaand I just realized I'd been playing in Hard, so that's why some of the random encounters were too mean. >_>

So yeah, made it through the dungeon. That was rather annoying because of the golems and those gargoyle-slash-lighter looking things and the zombie shark so my newfound auto-kill-all tricks with the Patissiere didn't work. :(

But finally we got to the blue marked interest point and discussed...taxes. This is kinda...a realistic point to be discussed of in an RPG lol. And as expected, the King is the new councilman. As for me, I'd rather cut the taxes...not only ideologically, but also that I'd get the Dark Knight asterisk.

So yeah the Lethal...Cake? and Ghostly Ganache are a godsend in boss battles. Alternis' goons died just like that.

And wow, that was one east fight. I was never in any danger. >_> He's losing his touch or is holding back because it's Edea.

Either way, we won! And everything is well for now. The nation will recover, the citizens took it to themselves to feed the orphans and Alternis probably committed suicide or something.

After beating some stray Ba'als, off to Stronghold we go!

Hey, I played a bit before work.

We walked in to the room Agnes was held in, but she wasn't there! Oh no, could they have noticed our sneaky idea of sneaking onto the Skyhold with out giant flying ship castle?

But suddenly Magnolia went cray cray and attacked Edea. I always knew she was trouble! You can never trust sequel characters...

So she started blabbering about Edea killing her father or whatever. Yeah we kinda slew everyone in our path lol not too heroic. But it turns out to be a Revenant...or is the job Revenant? How is this even going to work? He's just a spirit possessing an armor. And he's the son of that psycho Bloodyface, meh whatever. He probably would've killed his son anyway. (or did)

Lethal Layer Cake and Ghostly Ganache made short work of the lackeys. Let them eat cake!

There's supposedly some 'Soul Power' mechanic to the revenant, but I don't really get it yet. Maybe it charges over time (or action) like the special attacks...then when it reaches certain point, it gives boost to stats? Or allows you to use some skills?

Then the Revenant possessed Tiz and later Yew. They attacked the party, which is understandable. And their HP went beyond 9999? I don't know how to be rid of the possession other than tanking it until he goes out on his own...

Aaaand that's as far as I go. I left my 3DS charging at home.

I beat him without much trouble. A supposedly sad ending ensues but I don't know, I'm not really feeling the new asterisk holders.

More importantly, it's finally time to face the Kaiser and eat the gravy!! Or whatever.

Oh wait we fight Janne and he's a big joke. I almost forgot I had to fight him. Finally Yew got the courage to slit the throat of that traitorous pig. And he dies boo Hoo so sad, bromance forever whatever. I've been playing this too long.

Okay, so let's fight the Kaiser oh wait we're too late :( SAD

We fight Anne instead.... That was also so easy.

Now what.

Okay...the crazy light destroyed the moon and time stopped (totally how astronomy works). Magnolia is sad and we placated her. Now we must find a way to save everyone!

Seems like we have to...do a new game+? Uhhh not sure I want to drag myself through all that again.

Now that you have reached the point I can finally tell you

Start NG+ and during that tutorial battle against the Kaiser use Bravely Second first chance you get to activate the route to the true ending

But I agree this game drags on despite not having the time loop the first one did.

Right. I've played a fair bit, actually.

So we used Bravely Second and Magnolia, Edea, and Tiz popped in randomly and said some corny stuff. It was amusing that they entered the scene like random interlopers though. Yew's consciousness joined in and the fight begins!

Eh the Kaiser was a letdown, it was quite easy. His skill of buffing everyone was fun though.

Then the Kaiser opened his mask and he turns out to be...YEW'S BROTHER?! OMG what a twist! I could've never foreseen this twist even in a hundred, nay, a thousand lifetimes.

So he ran and we gave chase but were blocked by Cu Chulainn and the Sorcerer...Buddy? Sally? Something like that, I forgot her name. More story time. Suzy's parents died in the plague so she hates...Anti-Crystalists or something, I don't remember most of that stuff. She later found Cu's statue and brought him to life...before fusing him with a horse. Uh, sure.

We slayed them pretty easily as well, and instead of justifiably gutting them, we imprisoned them and took their weapons. Except for Sharon's doll, who was supposed to be a stand-in for her dead sister? Yeah.

Off we go to the new/old world!

Welp, so many side quests. I guess I should just take the asterisk I didn't get the first time around?

Also, I noticed I seldom talk about the gamepay, so here's my current build IIRC:
Yew - Catmancer/Patissiere
Mostly support, though Lethal Layer Cake and Ghostly Ganache is great to slay common enemies in one turn, and the Charm Cheesecake is fun to use now and then. At the Catmancer side of things, White Wind is love, the BP Tonic is nice, and...actually, I mostly use White Wind.
I also give him Item for All and Waste Not for extra support.

Magnolia - Sorcerer/Exorcist
Magic fire power, and the Exorcist provides great support especially with Undo HP/BP and that spell that can negate support effects.

Edea - Dark Knight/Hawkeye
Physical attacker, Hawkeye's skills are really nice to have (especially the elemental-imbuing ones and the pierce defense one). Minus Strike is nifty.

Tiz - Swordmaster/Ninja
Additional attacker. I gave him the Red Muletta or something so he can better attract the attacks.

Yeah, you should get all the jobs you didn't get the first time.

White Wind is absolutely amazing once you have the money to fund it. Sometimes it felt a bit too good with how easily I could bring my entire party back to full health. It doesn't even rely on any magic stat. It just uses your HP so pretty much every class can use it.

Alright, I beat the snot out of Eloch Khamer and got the Time Mage asterisk. Not too exciting. Fun fact: None of my characters have any level in Black Mage. Resonance kindaaa sucks hard. Glad to see that everyone's doing well despite the ridiculous tax.

Then I beat Barras Lehr and kept segregation!
