I knew nothing about Homestuck before I read it, and I thought Hivebent was one of the best parts.
It depends on whether you normally enjoy reading I guess. Typical comic fans who don't have the patience or imagination for regular books are probably less likely to appreciate Hivebent's numerous walls of text.
The walls of text in Hivebent were pretty jarring not because I don't like to read or anything silly like that (this is coming from someone who has read War and Peace, for instance) but because it was so different and so much more than what came immediately before. It was like Hussie massively changed the way the story was told. That took some getting used to. I enjoyed it, though, for the characters. That was also where we started getting some really nicely complex characterisation and I like that.

Fedorafreak also mentions grist, alchemization, and basically everything else that would indicate that he somehow made it into the medium. In fact, his conversation prior to Nanasprite's interruption indicates that he had sustained serious injury, was losing a lot of blood, and by all indication was about to ascend to God Tier.
fedorafreak: encountered rest surface. fedorafreak: horizontal stone slab exhibiting unidentified iconography. fedorafreak: a tall post at each corner. fedorafreak: mysteriously inviting. fedorafreak: mounting slab. exhaustion taking hold. pipefan413: Excuse me, sir!
Followed by some short and polite discussion before Nana's long-winded "fairy tale" followed by: -- fedorafreak's gray, serviceable hand-held computing device's battery has died. --
It should also be noted that Fedorafreak, much like pantskat and The Sufferer, also donned a pair of overly long pants after alchemizing together a pair of pants with a shirt and getting a result that he thought looked outlandish, but could potentially be used as defensive clothing in his struggles against the imps. He said that didn't really work out too well for him:
fedorafreak: severe injury sustained in skirmish with undersized, sportive rascal. fedorafreak: tall pant unremarkable in protective utility. damaged; badly bloodied. fedorafreak: no indication of laundering facilities throughout enchanted land whatsoever. fedorafreak: losing fluid rapidly. maintaining adequate hydration levels more important than ever.
Which was shortly before he mentioned that he found the "stone slab" with "a tall post at each corner" and that he was resting there. It should be noted that this is only the first time that I myself have realized the implications since I never really jumped into the "Who is fedorafreak" bandwagon, so it's as much new for me to consider as I'm sure it is for others who didn't really pay attention to much more than Nannaquin's fairytale. God Tier fedorafreak, especially if it actually is somehow someone from the scratched session (Jane's dad in particular since he "reminds me of him so" as nannasprite puts it.) could mean some pretty big importance in spite of it just seeming like a throwaway reference at the time.

Theory: One of the flashes will be set to Dogfight and finally show what happened to Sollux and Aradia. It will then move on to showing the mayhem on Derse, with a showdown against DD.

While that would indeed be awesome, CD is on Prospit...
...Which doesn't really preclude a triumphant entry just as DD is cornered, but I sadly do believe Drollgorg will never amount to more than a one-off joke.

and does this mean that there are two ars? one in dead dirks glasses and one in dream dirks glasses?
There is no way there could be one in Dream Dirk's glasses. It's not like they're wearing the same pair of glasses through time shenanigans. They were two different beings with no physical contact between each other, and no way to meet each other in the same timeline even via the portals.
And I don't think Dream Dirk would have had access to the materials to make a completely different AR on Derse.
