Meet the Pyro was great. Didn't have as much funny dialog as the previous two but it's the friggin Pyro what did you expect. I'm guessing people are disappointed mostly because each Meet the ____ was sort of a step up from the previous one and this is the first one not to do so, but I don't care. It was a little more in line with previous Meet the ____ videos rather than a full-length movie.
From: Paratroopa1 | #105 Tomislav is now useless. Bonk is now overpowered. Not sure what the purpose of these changes was.
Tomislav was an overpowered piece of crap so whatever to that.
Bonk didn't need any buffs. I think they want to make it as useful as the community perceives Mad Milk and the pistol to be, but they failed to realize that they all do completely different jobs and a direct comparison is irrelevant.

Tomislav was overpowered before the first nerf they gave it (when it revved at like +75% speed or something obnoxious like that), but it wasn't really overpowered anymore. Making it useless isn't really a good solution, now there's just a whole bunch more clutter. The amount of item clutter in TF2 is getting silly, I'd at least like for some of them to be worthwhile sidegrades. Tomislav is now strictly inferior to the minigun, just like every other minigun.
I fail to see how a weapon with virtually no downsides (No, the rate of fire drop doesn't matter enough to consider it a meaningful con) that completely erases most of a class's weaknesses isn't overpowered.

I fail to see how the Tomislav is useless now. It still has slightly faster rev-up and is still silent. It's still great for ambushes, which was it's original purpose.

Wait let me get this straight, you think firing fewer bullets is not a meaningful con?
Yeah, it wasn't nearly enough to balance out the original Tomislav, that thing was ridiculous, but the +40% Tomislav was just fine. Now the reduced fire rate way outweighs the reduction in rev time. The weapon's a piece of junk. A normal minigun Heavy will outgun a Tomislav Heavy nearly every time.

Now to be fair I haven't tested the +10% faster rev-up, but that should be barely noticeable.
The fact that it's silent almost doesn't matter. It still makes a sound when you first begin revving, and it's still noisy while firing.
If you're going to ambush as a Heavy, the Tomislav won't really improve your ability to do so, especially because the Tomislav allows people much more time to run away or counterattack safely, due to not killing them as fast. The minigun revs up fast enough that if you do it right it won't matter.
The actually interesting difference in play that the Tomislav created was improving the Heavy's mobility and his ability to react quickly to threats, while decreasing his overall firepower. It was broken in its first form, but pretty much just fine in its second form.

On a class that chews through pretty much every class in the entire game in 2 seconds anyway, barring other Heavies in which case he'd still probably 1v1 because of the faster rev up?
No, it isn't.

Doomsday's a cluster****, but it's fun. And short, thankfully. It felt like the end of Hightower meets the cental location of Thunder Mountain. I spent the majority of my time trying to take out enemy snipers on the backlines. So much fun.

-new dimension is hilarious and amazing. valve has outdone itself again.
-doomsday is a fun deathmatch. I wouldn't put it above my favorite koth maps, but it's definitely enjoyable. MM is right, the shortness is a great thing about it.
-new pyro flare gun is all right. there is splash damage/splash ignition when it hits a wall/the ground, so that's very nice, kind of as good as the detonator at flaming lots of people without needing perfect aim. the knockback is impressive and satisfying, I used it pretty well on doomsday. It's probably no flare gun/shotgun replacement, but it's definitely above detonator. I forgot to try to jump with it, probably doesn't work.
-new sniper SMG is all right. You have to kill with it to get the 3 seconds of crit bonus (you don't get it from a snipe/huntsman kill, which is what I was hoping). It's very bad at getting kills compared to the SMG which was already pretty bad at finishing people off. But when you get lucky and kill someone, SMG crits are pretty amazing (pretty sure you can switch to another weapon too).
-new soldier rockets are tricky to use. The gun is always unloaded, so when you're ready to shoot, you load up some rockets, then let go. You can run at full speed and everything while loading em. It's very effective, but it makes you defenseless all the time unless you're constantly loading up rockets and letting them loose.
-new scout scattergun is very fun. the speed is incredible, but you really need a good framerate to take advantage of it. having to refrain from jumping isn't much fun (and is very hard to do).
-new scout pistol is a cool idea, but I don't like that it's so passive.

I'm okay with the Tomislav being "useless" (I haven't actually tested its viability since the nerf) simply because it added nothing positive to the game.

No, it isn't.
Oh man, what.
First of all, Heavy only chews through "pretty much every other class" if they're stupid enough to just stand in your line of fire and die. To be fair, on pubs, that's like 99% of everyone you'll run into. If you play against people who are smart, then things are a lot different. The fact is that Tomislav allows far greater opportunity to retreat out of the Heavy's line of fire, even at pretty close range, and it's a lot less threatening in more suppressive-fire situations.
Second, are you kidding, a minigun Heavy beats a Tomislav Heavy pretty much 100% of the time unless the Tomislav Heavy gets a really significant jump on the other. This wasn't true with the original, broken Tomislav, but it was true with the 40% Tomislav and and the 10% Tomislav has absolutely no chance against a minigun Heavy. It's straight up domination by the minigun.

I'm sad that Tomislav got nerfed, seeing as I've been using it to get MVP in 2/3rds of the rounds I participate in, but now I can go back to using my beloved Iron Curtain.~ Every cloud has a silver lining!

Yessssssss, GRU are so fun to use now that they don't sap your life. Everything around me dies too fast to hurt me much, so the new mini-crit effect doesn't matter too much.

Indeed. I'm really excited to be able to use the Family Business and GRU together without having my health sapped.
Edit: Just tried the combo out on Doomsday, and it worked like a charm.

The new Sniper Rifle feels amazing. The sound and look of it is just so satisfying to use. Haven't really had any successful runs with Focus, so I can't really comment on that. Not needing to unscope is actually a pretty terrible thing since I don't snipe like that anymore, so I find myself manually unscoping when I'm in Focus.
I don't like it. Definitely sticking to the stock rocket launcher. It requires some good preparation and prediction on the user's part and the payoff is often not worth it.

the life-sapping was so much better. Either a Medic healing you rendered it null, or there was enough health lying around that you could easily heal up before you got to combat.

That's what I thought it was at first too-- and I thought it was really weird that someone else kept getting kill credit when I would kill an enemy with no one else around. Then I realized that was the official name for the brainslug, which I have equipped, and no such player existed in the server.
It only credits the brainslug if you get a solo kill, by the way, otherwise it's just you + assister as normal.
I just had a fantastic epic moment with the new rocket launcher. It was on red team, badwater, last point. The cart was all the way at the top of the hill, but my team got cocky when the blu team did a final push in the last ten seconds, and we all died except a couple of people doing their best to slow the cart down. The cart made it right up to the point, with 3 blu guys still pushing it as I respawned at spawn above the final point. I started loading rockets as soon as I spawned, ran out the door, jumped off the balcony, spewed a triplet of three rockets from mid air down at the cart, killed all three blus, overtime ended 5 seconds later. Awesome.

Do yourself a favor and go gunslinger engie on the new mode. The center area always turns into a pile-up and the mini-sentry is so annoying. It covers the entire area.
