That one guy looked straight out of Versus XIII. I do really love the art style and setting of Versus, so if it's moved into a game that might actually come out I'm all for it.

I don't really know the sales stats of FF13 from 360 but I highly doubt that it would not be for 360 or new MS console. also hard to believe it'd be on Wii U along with those.

Could very easily have been edited, especially the WiiU part (I doubt that's real, the process of conversion on something this big for something that's not even released, not seeing it) but the name change actually isn't that unthinkable. Actually I'd put my money on that being real. Agito ended up as Type-0 too, and just the whole FNC thing was a huge mess.

Yeah, I wouldn't be totally surprised if Square decided to skip out all on the whole Versus XIII thing and just made it a mainline title, but we'll see.

FFXIII's 360 sales were like 1/5 of the PS3 sales. Still sold over a million though, so it was obviously worth it.

It would be reasonable to think that FFXV would skip the weakest console though since FFXIII had a lot of issues on the 360 as it was, and they would probably like to not have to limit the graphics to the capabilities of the 360.

EDIT: Also I just watched 2 seconds of the video expecting and obvious fake, but this is legit as ****, nobody would bother faking this.

It's probably a renamed Versus though.

It also looked like maybe that was the tail end of a Versus XIII teaser and the XV logo was a separate announcement.

I thought they wanted to help save the Final Fantasy name after the XIV fiasco, but now spin-offs are upgraded to main title?

Versus 13 getting rebranded to 15 would be a pretty good movie on their part, get it out from under the stigma that the 13 universe has and position it as something DRASTICALLY NEW FOR THE SERIES' NEXT INSTALLMENT or something

Even if it turns out to be fake it's just a matter of time before they rebrand Versus to FFXV really. The game has become way too ambitious and hyped-up to be a "spin-off". Remember, the same happened to a lesser extent with Agito XIII.

Except Type-0 was more of a downgrade.

Mainline spinoff to just pure spinoff.

Type-0 has gotten overwhelming praise though. It's safe to say Square Enix is trying to dissociate the other games from XIII, which is nothing but a smart move.

I doubt Versus XIII is renamed FFXV. It might get a new name, but not made the next numbered game in the series. FFXV will likely be a completely fresh start.
