At the rate I get things, #1000 should be around November so maybe I could aim for it to be my first Wii U game
Sounds like a good idea. I probably won't be hitting that milestone for a long time. I'm a lot more picky with what I buy than I used to be. Well...except when I get in an N64 mood. Then I go nuts on eBay and expand my collection.

Hey Axl, I missed the #1 in your list. Can you confirm for me that it was what I think it was?
#001 is Final Fantasy VII. Write-Up is currently on hold because I've suddenly got a ton of work to finish up. I'll get to it soon though.
Are you currently living in a mansion?
Hahaha no. I moved out a year or so ago and live in an apartment. But in all honesty (and at the cost of sounding pompous) I do come from a rich background and I've been collecting games for a very long time. I started playing VGs when I was 2-3 and I'm 24 right now so... yup 20 years. I used to have this habit of purchasing games in bulk without even thinking but now I'm much more conservative towards my purchase.
Must have bought every console and handheld in existence and then about 200 for each.
Most of them are PS2 games (Way over a 1000). Second has to be SNES, NES and GBA followed closely by PS1. I also have pretty much every N64 game. From the current gen (PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP), I must be having close to a 1000 and yet I've played so few of them.
With 4000 games, you definitely must have a ton of trash games in there
But yeah I've never kept track of my collection of games... back when I was young I would trade back all my games all the time, so I never really had more than 10-15 games for my current console, and 50 at most across all consoles. But Steam says I have 113 games, and that's just over the last 5 or so years of PC, not including non-Steam games.

my gaming library has significantly improved from coming on B8
I remember thinking I had a lot of GameCube games when I had like 16 (and 10 GBA)
now this gen I've got +100 Wii games (not including VC), +100 Steam, almost 100 on my PS3, ~40 xobox, and ~40 DS.... as well as adding 50 more GC games to my collection, and tons of PS1 Classics and Virtual Console
Axl lives in Burma though. ...which makes things potentially crazier.
No. I live in Bhutan but for the majority of my childhood I lived in Switzerland and then I was also in the States for 4 years. Have made a couple trips back and forth. I always buy my games from the U.S, I prefer NTSC to PAL by a landslide.

Yep I do have a ton of trash games, especially from the NES, SNES, Genesis era and quite a number on the PS2 as well. But most of the games on the other consoles are atleast collectors worthy. As for the current gen, most are highly acclaimed games.
If I had to weed out all the trashy games, I'd still say I wouldn't sell around 3,000 of them for any price.

Lol yep that would do it. You did what I used to do on a much grander scale with buying them in bulk.
Also, jeebus GMUN. Lol the only system I have over 100 games for is my N64 (108 as of today). I couldn't imagine buying that many Wii-tail games.

I just looked at the My Games section after adding a game I got today. And I own 802 video games. That's just...woah.
Now you just need to get 0.11 games. And implement slightly different variations of that amount and then call them something else by adding a letter, like g!
You also have to take account how people count their games. Like I always count collections as just one game, but I know many people who would count each game in the collection as 1 game. For example I just purchased Jak & Daxter Collection on PS3 last week and that's just 1 game in my count and not 3

938 according to Backloggery, though to be fair 9 are missing, 1 is broken, and a few are PC expansions like Brood War and Lord of Destruction which I'm not sure if they should count as separate games or not.
