I still like Crusin' USA.

Never played Crash Team Racing. What makes it better than Mario Kart?

Everything.

Especially an adventure mode. I still don't know why no MK games have had one.

Probably either Mario Kart 64 or Cruisin USA for me.

Super satisfying driving mechanics with a good learning curve, and a high skill ceiling, and the gameplay is fair and fun from the first time you pick up the game to the highest levels of play. Balanced items that add just the right amount of randomness for fun, but leaves plenty of opportunity to the player to overcome bad luck with superior tactics and skill. There's also a really good story mode that has CTR token races, which is the best idea for a kart racer ever.

I can't get into it. I know it's objectively good, but I'm really terrible at it. I suck at racers, so Mario Kart the best for me. Though I played the hell out of Crusin World back when it was new.

yeah I agree

got the right balance of items vs player skill and the skill-related stuff is really satisfying to do. like powersliding all over everything, or taking the shortcuts
