Because I don't understand japanese and assume that voice acting will meet some sort of minimum standard. ._.

Keep in mind I'm a guy who regularly watches dubbed anime without complaint, my voice acting standards are very, very low. Lymle just takes the piss, her whole "kay" thing is really grating too, its not cute or endearing when it sounds like its coming from a soulless plastic doll.

I choose to play whichever is better and I don't know why others wouldn't do the same. Sometimes Japanese is better, sometimes English is better. Star Ocean 4 is a clear case where Japanese is better.

Again, you're completely missing the point.

The issue here is with someone who insists that there is a "right" answer at all when it comes to whether to use dubs, subs, or whatever. I don't really care what language you listen to anything in for whatever reason. You want to use the original language, have at it. I don't really care. You want to use a dub for another language, have at it. I don't really care. You want to use a sub for another language, have at it. I don't really care. Just don't claim someone else is "wrong" for choosing something else.

her voice is awful in the japanese version anyway so it's not like there's much of a difference. I never played it in English but Faize sounds pretty decent in the original version if that makes any difference.

I play every game in English. Great VO can greatly enhance the experience, but bad VO won't hurt it. It can get annoying at times, but that's not enough to stop me from playing/finishing a game.

That being said, Lymle did greatly annoy me.

I prefer original language when I can.

Usually for video games it's not an option and the English is pretty damn good anyway. Don't think I would do Metal Gear in Japanese for example.

On a brighter note the soundtrack is really good in parts, somewhat makes up for the voice acting problems. Especially the dungeon tracks I've come across so far.
