Talking about how you used to act in Dota, though that was a long time ago and you've grown up a lot since. I mean if you still don't snap whenever anything goes wrong I apologize, but I seriously doubt this is the case until I see it for myself.

Well I know a couple of years ago FD seriously flipped out on me and a few other b8ers when we forfeited without an inhibitor going down because we were getting stomped (and the inhibitor was about to go down anyway). I've played a few unranked/custom games with him since and I'm pretty sure he's mellowed out though.

In any case yeah it's really easy to just shrug off things. I'd say like 95/100 games where people rage I just completely ignore it/roll with it even if it's directed at me (and the other 5 just have me getting slightly irritated, not so much flipping out). But if you're prone to rage or depression or low self esteem as most who are involved with it seem to be (particularly the rage part) then yeah it's a terrible genre to get involved with.

Vouch and vouch. FD blew a gasket and was roundly mocked way back when, but he's gotten a lot better at not raging. You really should play with him (and play LoL, it'll be fun!) before calling him out Ulti.

ya'll broke the rule of not surrendering.

It's like the only rule I have in normal games.

I was mad ;_;

To be fair I sorta have that rule too. Or at least, I don't surrender until at least an inhib is down, generally. I get slightly annoyed when teams forfeit too quickly but don't think I've ever flipped out about it.

But uhh, in that particular game it really was "just about to go down." Like I clearly remember going to defend our top inhibitor while you guys were off dead or doing something else, getting owned, and hitting the last "yes" for the forfeit. Pretty sure the inhib would've literally went down in a few seconds.

(the only reason I remember that game is because I'm generally against forfeiting and thought you were really dumb for being like "we didn't even lose any inhibs!!!!!!" because we pretty much were just about to)

Not that I want to make an argument about a 2 year old game or anything, I'm just saying though I sorta agree with your philosophy in general I just feel you were completely wrong in that case to get even a little annoyed. Particularly in normal there comes a time where it's time to just cut your losses and hope to do better next game. If you're behind 20 kills and an inhib, I'd file that under "so unlikely to win that it's not worth playing out in normal." Down 20 kills without losing an inhib we'll talk, but yeah.

Well I imagine it's that on top of the fact of being frustrated with you guys' average level of play.

That's how I feel sometimes anyway.

"Oh boy these guys are doing badly and won't even let me have a chance to turn it around the best.'

Happens to me so many times in games when I am trying to carry.

Truth be told I don't really consider you to be much better than most people I play with, Chris. No offense intended just an honest assessment of your abilities as I perceive them. I certainly don't consider you to be significantly ahead of the likes of HGR or Sytha or Silverliner (if he's not doing something stupid) if at all. Granted there are a lot of b8ers I don't play with often and most of them are significantly worse, I suppose.

Also don't really think FD was too far above our level at that time, either.

He's improved a lot since then, though. I suppose it's possible you have too but I haven't played with you in a while.

Yeah I don't take much offense because I don't really think much of any assessment you'd make. Same no offense applies there mind you. Like people who aren't as good often won't see the things they do worse than other players. It is just how perception works.

I wasn't even really talking about just board 8ers in my example though. I was talking generally about players I play with period.

Wish we had that game saved then, because I had JUST come back to life and I was on my way to the inhib. We were blue. It was our top inhibitor. They were JUST about to start killing the tower. There were only 3 of them at the time because they were bad players as well and so two of them thought they didn't need to participate in the inhib slaying. I was singed. My ult was up. I was going to 1v3 them.

Granted I think we were going to lose that game eventually, but those 3 people were about to get their asses flung back at them. At least in that particular fight. I can't remember what champs exactly but I know their entire team was not pushing it and I know that I was not dead as well. The tower was probably going down and they MIGHT have taken the inhib as well at the cost of a guaranteed triple kill.

But I've refused to surrender even much worse games. It's just policy.

Anyways I'd much rather debate the merits of DotA 2 aka DotA 1 because it's the same game than rehash old annoyances. So we should do that instead maybe?

Anyone play the SC2 one, Storm of the Imperial Sanctum? I think I played it once and it seemed "okay." Or should I be ashamed even mentioning such a thing in such a sacred topic.

Well I see what I do worse than say, red13n easily. Or Ermine. Or tons of random "pros" I watch stream from time to time.

I just don't think you are quite as good as you think you are. I think most b8ers, you included, fall into the 1200-1500 elo range depending on how their luck is going at the moment. Like I could maybe say you're at the top end of that tier, but you're still in that same tier as most b8ers are. I don't think LoL ELO has ever really proven me wrong in this regard either.

Well if you want to start using ELO as a measuring stick you should probably never speak about FD again as he is usually in the 1800s. I mean if we want to use ELO then "okay." Also I don't think my perception of myself is the problem, it is your perception of you. You think because I talk down to a lot of board 8ers that I think I am anywhere close to red or FD and that's just not the case. I know I have a lot of areas to improve on and that I really don't play the game as much as I should to improve as much as I do. So much so I've started taking solo queue as a chance to make myself a more well rounded player.

What I don't think you realize is that often times I will be trying my best to repeat things I've been taught by either FD or Red at some point by the way.

I wasn't even comparing you to me. If you'll notice I didn't even mention myself in the original post.

Unless you think all the guys I mentioned are also in a higher tier than I am. Then fair, I suppose. I think they're all better than me but yeah, not "higher tier" better.

(Also FD's ELO wasn't all that great back then either so my comments about him back then don't really have any bearing about me bringing ELO into it-- remember this was a long time ago. That's why I said "he's improved")
