I run about three miles a day and I have to do so at either this time or super-early because otherwise it's too hot down here.

My runs are in the afternoon, with my dogs. Never too hot(even though I live in Arizona), but I'm also pretty high in elevation, so it does tire me out a bit.

The best feeling is when you haven't done a run in a while, or a long walk, and when you get home your thighs and butt muscles are all freaking out when you sit down to rest.

Northern Arizona is absolutely beautiful man, I'm jealous. I spent a few nights up there in Flagstaff a few years back. Oh man, good times.

Flagstaff and King-something-or-other.

I spent five summer months in Phoenix, Tampa is worse. The humidity kicks Phoenix's arse sensation-wise, you just gotta be careful not to stay out for more than an hour in Arizona or you'll... die is all.

Running is always tough when you start up (even if you were a solid runner in the past). If you stick with it, not only will you look FORWARD to running, but you will also throw out so many bad habits in the process. I speak from experience.

And that's all lies, exercise is not the best feeling in the world folks, can feel pretty good but lets not hyperbolize here. You've gotta spill some seed for it to rank

Does anyone have tips for this?

Jogging instead? Or just do sprints sporadically while doing some brisk walking. There's a word for that style of workout I forget at the moment, but it's good.

Music has always helped me with pacing myself. Map out a route to run, make a playlist. It doesn't have to be exact, even. Two average songs to a mile is great

I find that listening to music while running makes it more fun. Also, give yourself time! It's very okay to run slowly (like 10-12 minute pace). People always tend to run too fast, then stop. Build up your endurance slowly.

Speaking of Phoenix heat though, I really don't mind it at all. Just because it's super dry. Hell, I'd rather be in Phoenix on a 118 degree day than in Flagstaff on a 87 degree day, just because the sun absolutely annihilates you in Flagstaff on hotter days.

Yeah, dry heat is definitely not quite so bad. The only real downside to dry heat is that at 118 you might feel like you're doing better than you think and then... pass out and die. You'll know for damn sure over here in Tampa when the hundred-degree weather is making you seek out shade ASAP. But in Phoenix it sneaks up on ya.

Extreme case is extreme, obviously, but it's one thing to keep ever-vigilant about if you're going to be outside in the Phoenix area for a long period of time during the Summer months.
