Board 8 > Just for fun... what are the 3 worst games I own?

I don't buy very many games, and because of that I basically love about 95% of the games that I down own. I'm curious to know what Board 8 thinks of my collection of PS/2/3 games though. Just name the 3 worst in your opinion, or the 3 best if that's your thing. I'm missing at least half my PS games, but the ones there are kind of hard to see so I'll just list them anyways.

I'm kind of surprised by how many people dislike the KH series though. KH1 was great when I played it back in 04, and I only played 2 for a couple days before quitting... but it wasn't bad either.

If I had to pick the 3 worst they would be Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Smackdown vs. Raw and the original MGS... The first two I didn't buy. A friend found NGS somewhere and just gave it to me since it was 2007 and I was the only person he knew with a PS3, WWE was a friend's and I basically stole it without knowing since I played it once and forgot about it (I guess he forgot too since I saw him at a party a couple years later and he never asked for it), and I just can't stand playing MGS, at all. I wish it was a visual novel rather than a game, ugh. I'm near the beginning of disc 2 if I remember correctly.

I'm just going completely personal basis on my answer in this topic, that's all. Sports games aren't for me. I can see the appeal of course.

KH1 has a better story imo. Kept it simple like a Disney story rather than getting into messes about clones and hearts and keyblades and alternate universes and whatever other nonsense has spewed from the series since KH2.

Eh, I'm not that big a fan of KH1's story until you get to Hollow Bastion. I know the plot is all kinds of messed up nowadays, but I still kinda like it.

Well, KH2 really simplifies the gameplay by adding Reaction Commands (think QTEs), and it's easier in general.

Boy...there's a lot I could talk about, as a huge fan of the game and the amount of hype I put into the sequel.

But the biggest one is I prefer the adventuring that KHI has.
KHII maps are literally simple geometric shapes with a few treasure boxes in the corners. And the interactivity is zero.

Every playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 1 I found knew things to examine, or something that reacted to a magic spell, or a platforming segment I never saw, etc. It's crazy how many things you can find when you revisit a world later. It's not like the rewards were all that spectacular sometimes but it was really fulfilling to just have your curiosity rewarded. In a way it's like the Zelda game I always wanted, when interacting with your environment wasn't as formulaic as "use bomb on cracked wall" or "use hookshot on hookshot target."

The game didn't really push that on you so I guess it doesn't matter to a lot, but it gets me.

Other things that are more universally accepted is that it didn't have KHII's disgusting convolution and writing, and the fact that the combat was, though unrefined, ultimately more engaging because it actually required thought and skill than just pressing X to use stylish moves that annihilate opponents.

Yeah, KH1's story isn't really good. The worlds are just "hey, let's muck around with people's problems and at the end of it we'll notice a keyhole somewhere." The main plot is cliched, but the game is a Disney crossover so I don't really see the problem with that.

Oh I'm still interested in the KH mythos, but it's all kind of silly now, when at one point I thought it was actually awesome (KH1 and CoM).

I pored over the Ansem reports and the secret videos and trailers looking for evidence to support or discredit the various theories thrown around back then.

BBS and Re:coded's combat and leveling system is fantastic and makes up for the lack of adventure.

Legend of Dragoon isn't bad. Its hilariously bad localization is, well, hilarious. Its battle system is weird but slightly cooler than a lot of other turn-based systems. The connect-the-dots world map feature is kind of awful though.
