azuarc 11:21 am hmm...there are exactly 64 tracks on the Chrono Trigger OST has anyone ever done a tournament bracket out of them? lol
b8niorapth 11:24 am ....you.. you're not...
azuarc 11:24 am lol, why not? I mean other than the fact that 10 of them are like 8 seconds long
b8niorapth 11:25 am .... i dare you
Challenge accepted.
So yeah, typical tournament junk here. Listen to songs, no alts, rallying, et cetera, et cetera, and so forth. I don't think I need to explain anything further. Taking all links from Peyserconley's channel for consistency.

CT is my favorite game, so I say Hell yeah! to this idea.
To Far Away Times ~ Ending Theme - duh Wings That Cross Time ~ Epoch Theme - fairly close, I like them both At the Bottom of Night - One of my absolute favorites on the soundtrack. Boss Battle 1 is good as well though. Guardia Millenial Fair - Decent song that's up against one of the worst full length songs of the game. 2300AD music is ass.
azuarc posted... wow, 8 posts and no complaints about the bracket yet. I rock.
>_>
The only thing that really jumped out at me was that I'd switch the seeding of the two "boss theme" tracks. Everything else looked either pretty spot on or reasonable

the bottom right is barren of any competition, and bottom left only has Wind Scene. meanwhile, To Far Away Times, Memories of Green, World Revolution, and Boss 2 are ALL in the top left. so it could be better for sure.

Depends on what you consider competition, obviously. (And by "competition," do you mean songs you would consider a worthy champion?) There's quite a few songs I like a great deal that you didn't list.
I will keep the thread open for at least 24 hours. I'm not sure exactly when I'll close the thread, but it will have nothing to do with what's going on in the polling and everything to do with when I get home from work.

I can't agree with that... personally I'd take Corridors of Time as the odds on favorite to win the contest. FWIW that's the only Chrono Trigger song that's retired in Ed's VGMusic contests.

From: Kaxon | #021 Actually, the bottom right arguably has the two most popular songs from the game.
Hmm, I remember tons of people complaining about Corridors of time. Seems like it was lucky to retire at all. Schala... doesn't really stand out to me at all, if that's what you meant. We'll see, though.

Well this is... not... remotely fair of course, but a necessary evil and quite a funny match.
9. Wings That Cross Time ~ Epoch Theme
An extremely close match. "Robo Gang Johnny" has a really good beat to it but "Wings That Cross Time" is so very snazzy, jazzy and downright jdizzy. It also has the bonus of reminding me of CT and XG at once, and that's two in my top ten games. Not bad at all, Mitsuda. Keep up the good work.
13. At the Bottom of the Night
Aw, man. And toward the end of this track I'm reminded of Xenogears too. Huh. I'd forgotten how similar some of those Mitsuda tracks really were. Well anyway, once again Mitsuda at his prime here, although "Boss Battle 1" by none other than Mitsuda puts up a good... fight. Oh, zinger! But seriously, both Mitsuda and Mitsuda are in top form here.
12. People Who Threw Away the Will to Live ~ Arris Dome Theme
Such an atmospherically poignant track. Really though, the competition isn't all that fierce this time. "Guardia Millennial Fair" would be above-average in most games' soundtracks, but Mitsuda soundtracks are Big League.
People often give 2300 AD a lot of flack and I do understand their reasons. It's still bottom-of-the-barrel for me as well but that's one big, juicy barrel, you fellas know what I mean? Well anyway, Mitsuda.

16. Huh?! 8. Robo Gang Johnny 4. Boss Battle 1 5. Guardia Millenial Fair
Guardia top tier!
Hmm, To Far Away Times as a 1-seed and Chrono Trigger as a 4? I'd take the original theme over any of the variations - well, except PLAINS OF TIME from the Chrono Cross OST.
