I'm not sure if you're joking, but I feel obligated to tell you that I have absolutely always loved the Blues. This is my first season legit following hockey, but I have a hockey-loving family. My dad, uncle (the one I actually live with now) and cousin all played hockey. I remember going to their games (they played on the same team). My dad was the goalie. I have always loved hockey. I have always loved the Blues. I just never followed hockey COMPLETELY until this season. Since I finally had the time and the depression issues that required some form of sports to alleviate.

I would be in a much worse place right now if it wasn't for hockey.

F*** yeah hockey.

Anyway, I've always lived in St. Louis and have always supported the Blues with all of my heart. But I was never as invested as I am now (lack of a job or... anything is the reason).

Yeah, I'm joking with you. You were posting about them earlier this year when they looked like they could be awful due to a coaching change and all. And it's not like you jumped on some team that was good across the country, it's the team from where you live.

And it's about time you finally jumped into the great world of hockey, more people need to do so and realize what fun it is.

Oh I've been meaning to get more involved with the sport for years. But when I worked at walmart I was always on evenings and also didn't have cable at home. I got updates from a friend about what happened in the games and stuff, but that was about it. Once all the s*** in my life started falling apart, I turned to the only thing that offered any sort of comfort. That was, of course, hockey. And it helped a lot. Getting a lot more involved, learning more about the sport, etc.

It's only been, what, around six months? And I already know a TON more about the sport than I ever did before. I know every single player/number on the Blues. Even found another team in the East to support (Rangers) and learned most of their players/numbers as well.

Yatta yatta. You get the gist.

There's a lot of "hockey" fans that will only ever watch their team play, and are missing out on a whole lot. It's great that you're watching games that don't involve the Blues and getting into them, then you're really on your way to being a big fan of the sport.

I'd say I'm already there. I've pretty much established which teams I like and which teams I hate by now. I just love the sport and now I've finally reached the point I've been wanting to get to for years. I know hockey. I know the NHL. Well, of course I still have more to observe, but I've made a ton of progress already. Over a relatively short time. The Blues always come first, naturally, but good hockey is good hockey. No matter who's playing.

I'd be up for that! I've mainly been focusing on where the league is now. But I'd say I'm pretty squared away with it at this point. In which case, the logical course of action would be to go back and learn as much as I can about hockey history. I of course know the basics like Wayne Gretzky being the greatest. And some other stuff that my dad has told me, etc.

In any case, I'd love to be a hockey expert. History is a part of that. I would love for you, TheKnightOfNee, to be my instructor. Nothing would please me more.
