I contacted Nintendo for confirmation of Miyamoto's interview statements, and received the following response: "In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin game will be shown at the E3 Expo in June. He believes that anyone who has played Pikmin games in the past will enjoy playing."

GuessMyUserName posted... well it's probably going to be a launch title so it better appear at E3
I mean jesus, Pikmin 3 was announced the same day Brawl was announced.
Did they not show Brawl in the conference though? I remember them tossing Pikmin out at the end after subjecting everyone to Cammy whats-her-face in an attempt the placate the rage the audience was displaying.
I assume they lied. I mean, nothing came of it for 4 years.
Pikmin 3 has been mentioned to be in the works quite a few times since then. Developing games behind the scenes without showing them isn't exactly new to Nintendo!

This is one of my favourite series, and I'm super hyped for Pikmin 3, but...
I really don't see how the series could work on the 3DS. Wouldn't they really have to struggle to fit 100 'mins onto a tiny screen without making people squint?
am I the only one who absolutely loved Pikmin 2's multiplayer deathmatches? Need more of that in Pikmin 3.
I loved that but hated the fact that you couldn't play the storyline in co-op (like, the game was made for that goddamnit, it had 2 characters you could switch between). Or heck, anything co-op without a short time limit.
