Nope.

Even with the little facts we knew from the beginning we knew FOR A FACT that he was guilty. Indisputable.

This.

There is more than enough evidence for him to be brought to trial and for his case to be heard.

No doubt the prosecutor's looking to score points, that's why she took the decision out of the hands of the grand jury. Zimmerman is done for. Which means we get two dead bodies instead of one. Hurray, I guess.

On the 911 call it was suggested that Zimmerman stop following Martin, and according to his story he did stop, eventually. However there is no law requiring you to obey the 911 dispatcher.

it's excusable if he isn't American. I only know of this case because I frequent board 8 and other sites with a mostly US userbase.

Trayvon Martin died, but we don't even know if he wouldn't have died anyway had Zimmerman not followed him. For all we know Trayvon had already decided to confront him by the time the operator suggested that he stop.

We don't yet have all the facts to declare Zimmerman guilty.

Zimmerman was a "neighborhood watch" volunteer and saw a suspicious kid (Martin) walking through the neighborhood. He called 911 to report it. The dispatcher recommended he not follow Martin and wait for police. He continued to follow Martin, they eventually met, an altercation took place, and Zimmerman shot Martin.

Zimmerman asserts Martin attacked him and he responded with appropriate force.

The hubbub is because this happened almost 2 months ago and just now charges are being filed.

Good. It's about time. The only reason this case was an issue is that he wasn't arrested or charged to begin with. So they'll find him guilty or not, and if they convict him he probably will get a moderate sentence, given that it was a second degree murder at most.

AIM chatrooms were doing that way before twitter

Anyway I've been indifferent to this case in the sense that I don't know if he was guilty or not guilty, but it was definitely absolutely ridiculous that he was never arrested until now.

i think you might be kinda overreacting here man

american children have some issues but something like twitter is a symptom, not the disease.

twitter is also rules for adults. lots of "relevant stuff" has happened on the sight, such as communication w/ family/information providing after natural disasters, people in oppressed countries getting their voice out to the rest of the world, etc.

i dont have an account there or anything but im not gonna deny the benefits of it

Why hasn't the black community used this tragedy to address deeper rooted social problems within their race. Violence, glorified criminality and gangs are synonymous with black culture. How come no one like Al Sharpton or MLK Jr. or the NAACP using this as an opportunity to express concern with the state of African Americans....why is it always some one's fault....why don't they address their own issues and start to change their own culture and move away from connotation of criminals.

There's nothing illegal about his leaving the vehicle. He'd be guilty of violating a police order had it been a policeman giving the order, but it was a dispatcher that gave the... not even an order, more of a suggestion.

Ulti's amazing in his ability to speak only in hyperbole.

Yesterday we were talking about a website that allows the trafficking of 15 year old girls.

Yet today twitter is "the worst site on the internet."

It's not even worse than that website where you buy milk that people gargled.
