If you are told to stay away and let the police handle the situation, you don't do it, and someone dies because of it, guess what? You're guilty.
On the 911 call it was suggested that Zimmerman stop following Martin, and according to his story he did stop, eventually. However there is no law requiring you to obey the 911 dispatcher.
Guilt and responsibility aren't based upon laws.
