Dissidia is very hit and miss yeah, but it was kind of hard to make the FF1-3 characters 'worse'.

I don't think they did though. Most are more interesting or at least the same (in my opinion on characters). Dissidia didn't do anything to harm my opinion on those characters since they were so little fleshed out to begin with, and with major characters already fleshed out I tend to regard Dissidia as "alternate universe" and ignore it if I don't like it.

Augh I missed a round and Dad goes out (granted I miss over 50% of the rounds this contest because of awful start times)

Final Fantasy Legend games certainly weren't as fleshed out as the mainline Final Fantasy games, but they were decent fun.
