I flipped over to the Sox game, 9-0, obviously a great result, but then it's Joe Buck talking about how much a head of lettuce used to cost before Derek Jeter, and then Tim McCarver saying pitchers get better as they throw more pitches but you'd never know it because they get taken out, so yeah turned that off. so glad I did.

on the plus side it is going to be easy to get tickets soon, on the minus side I like maybe 4 people on the roster :(

oh my god I can't believe the red sox gave that one to us today.

that is just a soul crusher. I had one of the tvs at work on the baseball game and the other two on bruins/caps (bad day for boston all around). And it was 9-0 so I was writing it off, but then I look at it and did the biggest double take ever when I saw it was 9-8.

You cannot lose that game if you're Boston. Bobby Valentine isn't lasting very long.

Also congrats to Philip Humber, what an amazing accomplishment.

The soul crusher for the season was either losing Paps or gaining Bobby V. Somewhere in there is Theo leaving, but I'm not sure the team is any different with Cherington, the robot thing from Pee Wee's Playhouse, and Bill James running the show. None of these losses has hurt all that much, considering last September and the off season.

Speaking of homeriffic broadcasters, I usually find Mario & Rod pretty neutral, but I feel like this season they're a little more slanted, and I don't really like it.

Frankly, since theres been so many day games and I've been working, I've heard way more Price and Dickerson than Mario and Rod this year, so I couldn't comment. Price and Dickerson have always been superior, though I do still enjoy mario and rod.

They still give plenty of credit to the opposing team, but mostly tend to sweep borderline calls that go in favor of the Tigers under the rug.

They don't flat out LIE like in that Texas clip you posted, but they move on fairly quickly. <_<

EDIT: And Icehawk, you should fill out this poll for Dickerson and Price as Fangraphs tries to rank all the radio announcers.
