Yeah Toguro is amazing and then Sensui is even better.

Yomi and Mukuro are cool too, though the nature of that arc makes characterization relatively shallow.

Toguro is great. He's not even that evil and I actually like his motivations.

However Sensui is without a doubt the absolute best. Not just in YYH, but in all of anime. He is the greatest anime villain and one of the greatest fictional villains of all. Right there with Darth Vader and Scarecrow.

So for now I'm just doing Dark Tournament rankings, I'll get before that later on.

Kuwabara vs Rinku

This was an interesting-ish fight, but not all that good really. It was mostly Kuwabara getting dominated, and saving himself by using his spirit sword to slow his fall(I'm not sure how this was supposed to be surprising since we've seen him do the exact same thing before). About the only significant new thing here was the ability to bend his sword - the double swords never really came into play. The ending was also kind of anti-climactic, although probably the best way it could have ended given that it showed how much stronger Kuwabara was while still having him lose.

Kurama vs Roto

This one was pretty boring, short and one sided with a twist ending. Not really much to say regarding it, since we didn't get to see much of Kurama's personality regarding it.

Hiei vs Zeru

Is every Hiei fight going to go this way, seemingly Hiei getting his ass kicked and then revealing he was just toying with the enemy before completely obliterating them? Still, showed the depths of Hiei's powers, so has some significance.

Yusuke vs Chu

OK, now HERE is a real fight. Up until now, every Yusuke fight except maybe Hiei has been won through either dumb luck, or a sudden burst of power from some source or another. This time, we get a fight where Yusuke is matched in both power and personality.

The fight is actually really cool to watch, too - it's got some great choreography of sorts, and it doesn't come down to lets hang back and use our skills constantly like most fights, and the few times it does it's awesome - the double spirit gun was pretty awesome.

And then it finally gets into the knife edge deathmatch, and I couldn't think of a better end to the fight. Not only was it intense and fairly gruesome, but it's Yusuke doing what he does best, and the final headbutt was just classic, as was Yusuke's response to the crowd after. Definantly set the tone for the entire rest of the arc.

9/10

Also, on a note - I see now why people prefer the dub to the sub. I was thinking it was because of the voices(some of which I still really do not like) but watching it alongside subs shows me how much of the dialogue it changes, giving so much more personality.

Sub Yusuke and Hiei are growing on me, but I hate some of the side characters.

Koenma is a great example. I hate his voice in the dub :( Rinku too!

I find Koenma's voice appropriate for his baby form. Bit less so for his normal shounen size form, but I think his voice loses some of its obnoxiousness then. Not too sure.

I also love Botan's dub voice.
