From: Some_Character | #049 I find Koenma's voice appropriate for his baby form. Bit less so for his normal shounen size form, but I think his voice loses some of its obnoxiousness then. Not too sure.
Still the same voice, but he does talk differently to fit his "grown up" size.

I also love Botan's dub voice.
Botan(and all the girls honestly) are great in the dub.

Largely a character-driven fight with little real action to be had. It was still very cool overall. However, since most of it revolved around the personality of the characters, and very little about actual fighting or abilities, there isn't much to write on here.

From: MarvelousGerbil | #061 I could never find the Eizou Hakusho stuff, has anyone seen them? Any good?
I have the DVD they released last year of it. And no, I haven't watched them because they aren't dubbed. Honestly, I wouldn't have bought the set if it didn't include the movie (which was really meh in general). There's some nice extras on the set that were dubbed as well.

Is every Hiei fight going to go this way, seemingly Hiei getting his ass kicked and then revealing he was just toying with the enemy before completely obliterating them? Still, showed the depths of Hiei's powers, so has some significance.
6/10 .
Hiei wasn't toying with Zeru, he had to basically destroy one of his own arms to kill him. It was a last resort move and he didn't want to do it.

Uh he's right. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that Hiei didn't want to use the Dragon of the Darkness Flame but he knew it was the only way he'd win.
During the Dark Tournament, Hiei was able to accomplish a feat that many had thought impossible when he summoned the Dragon of the Darkness Flame in order to win his match against Zeru in the first round. However, because it was his first time using this attack, it severely damaged his right arm. This damage was so extensive that it left him screaming in pain and unable to grip his sword. Because of this, he only got to fight in four matches total during the entire tournament, due in large part to his preoccupation with Gatasubal during the second round coupled with his ineligibility during the third round. That being said, calling on the Dragon was a legendary feat on its own, as anyone else attempting this would have had their arm blown off after using it.
I usually swear by the original but Japanese Yusuke really rubs me the wrong way and he's the main character so I would go dub.
Kuwabara is better in the original though, I thought(Anyone voiced by that guy in any dub is probably going to be better in Japanese). And dub Hiei isn't bad at all but it's hard to top his Japanese voice.

A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice.
This was a rather slow fight, more of a setup for the next one that an exhibition of its own. As it is, the fight was still entertaining enough - I'm coming to really like Kurama's fights.
7/10
Kurama vs Touya
Now this one was more interesting. A much more tactical side of Kurama that we've seen, trying several things before the end. I knew Touya from the SNES game(odd the random characters selected there) but was quite pleased by what was given. Surprising amount of action for the limits that were put on it, and the ending is one of my favorite Kurama moments.
7/10
Yusuke vs Bakken
Heh. Now THIS is a one sided fight. Pissing off Yusuke is really the worst move you can do, this is becoming clear. Not only is the fight an absolute slaughter, but it's also stylish and meaningful, and almost claims my favorite fight of the round.
8/10
Yusuke vs Jin
Another awesome fight. Not only is it really cool to watch(this is actually the first time I can think of where someone dodges those last second punches Yusuke throws off) but both characters are just so damn awesome that you can't help but love it. The commentary makes this fight, adding just as much as the action itself. I really hope I get to see more of Jin later in the series.
9/10
Kuwabara vs Rishio
Kuwabara is a tank. That's all there is to it. Give him some fuel and you can't stop him. While this is not one of the more entertaining fights action-wise, it really solidifies Kuwabara as my favorite character on the team.

Hiei being Hiei. This fight is about as one sided as it comes, and really not much else to be said.
5/10
Hiei vs Kuro
Now this was an interesting match. It's nice to see something where Hiei doesn't just straight out obliterate his opponent. There were a lot of nice trades throughout the fight, the action was very intense, and it had a very Kurama-esque ending with the creative, sudden kill. This fight also served to show Hiei off as less of a straight powerhouse and a bit more of a creative thinker, which is nice.
7/10
Kurama vs Ura
Heh, I was chuckling as soon as he started talking about the mists. I guessed pretty much exactly what was going to happen, and Kurama's badassery just shines here. The match is short, sadly, and doesn't involve much action, but enjoyable nontheless.
7/10
Kuwabara vs Shishiwakamaru
Heh
7/10
Genkai vs Shishiwakamaru
Wasn't really expecting another Genkai fight, but I was pleased with the results. I knew Shishi from the game, and I'd seen bits of this fight before, but he was a bit more sadistic than I remembered/expected. Still, was an entertaining fight, and a nice way for Genkai to show she can still kick ass when need be.
Kuwabara vs Onji
Heheh
8/10
Genkai vs THE BEAUTIFUL SUZUKA
This fight was just ridiculous, cracked me up constantly. Not only was Suzuka utterly insane as a fighter, but Genkai toying with him and then completely dominating him was superb. Another top tier fight.
8/10
***SPOILERS***
Genkai vs Toguro
Not ok with this outcome. I liked Genkai :(

Genkai is a top tier character and pretty much THE top tier female character. Touya's randomness in the video game isn't really so random. Good move set and he actually survives, which is more than most others can say.

In Tokubetsu Hen? It's more a matter of him getting random abilities(though most of the characters do - why can everyone fly, not just Jin?)

MarvelousGerbil posted... Oh I thought you were trying to say his inclusion at all was strange. His moveset may have been weird, I've only played it once a while ago.
Yeah I played it long ago, it twisted a bunch of things so everyone could have some ranged attacks, and fly, etc etc

Yup, Kurama has the best fights. What a great way to start the final. This was absolutely perfect. The dialogue, intimidation, and general badassery from both sides was perfect, the action was great and very split, and the ending was flawless, complete with the twist.
First off, Kurama is amazing. Incredibly tactical, but also a textbook badass. Keeps going during a hellish beating, then takes the Deleterious Bomb only to taunt Karasu with a rose and emerge with the ultimate "**** you" look as Yoko. The Ojigi plants were just an awesome addition, and surprisingly entertaining to watch, and even at this point it takes awhile for the match to really shift to Kurama's favor.
But Karasu is an awesome villain. Both sadistic, brilliant, and incredibly powerful. The match seems over from the Ojigi plants when Karasu comes around and really shines, torturing Kurama endlessly. His variations of bombs kept the fight entertaining and gave even more action to this already incredible fight.
The ending is stand out as well. Kurama once again is willing to sacrifice his own life in a turn around performance, only to be robbed of the match on a technicality.
10/10
Also as a note: Didn't they say seeing Karasu's bombs required you to be a special class of demon? Or were they just referring to power level/awareness? Because it's interesting how out of the five of them, Yusuke seemed to be the only one able to see the minefield near the end of the match.
Hiei vs Bui
Oh look, it's another match of Hiei being Hiei. Well, at least he's not completely toying with the opponent this time, even if the fight is rediculously one sided. However, even though this fight doesn't have the awesome back and forth nature that Kurama vs Karasu does, it's got a few things going for it.
First, the action in this fight was still awesome. Even in the start with Hiei toying with Bui in his armor, the action is still awesome(I particularly liked Bui throwing huge portions of the stage at Hiei), and it just gets even more intense as it goes on, as evidenced by the stage being completely obliterated by the end of the fight.
Then there's the actual animation of the fight. I'm assuming this is the oddly animated fight you were referring to before, but I found it to be incredible. It added a lot of intensity and kept me glued just as well as any of the action in Kurama's fights, and really made it work watching.
10/10
Kuwabara vs Elder Toguro
Oh I'm sorry, was I calling Karasu sadistic? I take it back, THIS guy takes the cake. Though there's relatively little action to be had here, it's twist after twist and the dialogue, coupled with the reactions from Kuwabara, make it really a top notch fight as well as giving some insight on the history between Younger Toguro and Genkai.
Oh, and spirit flyswatter was a fitting move to end this little roach(even if it didn't actually end him - good to see even Younger Toguro won't put up with his ****).

Also, yeah. That was the oddly animated episode I was referring to, earlier. It could have been worse. It just kind of throws me off after a bunch of "normal" episodes.
