I'm looking to play every "major" NES game, decided by either critical acclaim, influence or popularity. I did some research on my own, and here's where you come in.
Here's what I got so far.
SMB1-3 and Lost Levels Zelda 1 & 2 Metroid Fire Emblem 1 & 2 Kirby Final Fantasy 1-3 Dragon Quest 1-4 Mother River City Ransom Battletoads Batman Tiny Toon Adventures 1 & 2 Ducktales 1 & 2 Darkwing Duck Godzilla Duck Hunt Donker Kong Excitebike Contra 1 & 2 Castlevania 1-3 Mega Man 1-6 Crystalis Faxanadu TMNT 1-3 Punch-Out!! Adventures of Lolo 1-3 Kid Icarus Clu Clu Land Megami Tensei 1 & 2 Bubble Bobble Ninja Gaiden 1-3 Star Tropics 1 & 2 Dig Dug Bionic Commando Strider Mach Rider Balloon Fight Wario's Woods Rampart Archon
Get these ones; - Adventure Island I, II & III (Note: The first one has unforgiving difficulty. Get the 2nd and the 3rd at least) - Metal Gear (You might wanna get the MSX version since the NES one is a watered down version of it and get Metal Gear 2 while at it) - Tecmo Super Bowl - Prince of Persia (Again, the NES is a watered down version. Get the PC one if you can) - Willow - Maniac Mansion - Spartan X 1 and 2 (Japanese name)
Some games I personally enjoyed - 3-Eyes Boy (Note: this game is VERY difficult to come by and I don't think its ever been localized outside Japan) - Samurai Pizza Cats - Jurassic Park - The Goonies 1 & 2 - Felix the Cat
Shatterhand Cocoron Little Samson Blaster Master Journey to Silius Street Fighter 2010
maybe Solomon's Key There's actually an Adventure Island 4 as well, I think it might have never actually come out though. It's a Metroidvania, surprisingly

oh yeah Super Dodge Ball too. There are some other Kunio-kun (River City Ransom, Super Dodge Ball, Renegade, etc) games that are good too that only came out in Japan, I know someone on this board knows some info on them and can tell you more

The reason why you couldn't see my Signature before is because it was Invisible

Seriously. It's an amazing system that kids who started at 16-bit or later will just never give credit to.

I'm rather ashamed to say that I was once one of those people. I grew up in the age of 3D graphics, and any time someone tried to introduce me to one of the games that were created before I was born I would inevitably give up within a couple of hours, claiming that "the blockiness makes my eyes hurt" and "the gameplay is too simple". It's only within the last couple of years (thanks to increased maturity and understanding, I guess) that I've really come to appreciate the retro scene, and I now count titles such as StarTropics, Maniac Mansion, and Adventures of Lolo among my all-time favourites.
Not exactly a mainstream title, as it wasn't released in North America, but Captain Tsubasa II is really awesome. It's a football/soccer RPG. If you like Blitzball, you'll love it. There's an English translation available online.

Seconding Shadow of the Ninja, TMNT 2-3, Maniac Mansion and Gun.Smoke.
All fantastic games.

Do you think cats are clever? They don't hold a candle to dogs and SuperNiceDog is the cream of the crop since he won the Guru contest without breaking a sweat.
