The following are the rules that I will be enforcing: 1. Normal nuzlocke rules (Catch the first Pokemon of each area, if a Pokemon faints it will be released, no legendaries, ect.). 2. No duplicates. Also if a wild Pokemon encounter happens before I can acquire Pokeballs, it won't count. 3. Battle-style will be "Set".
I believe that's all the rules.
A little background for this nuzlocke:
My first nuzlocke was not too long ago, with Pokemon White. Managed to beat the main game. I haven't actually played Emerald before, and the last time I played R/S was back in 2003. I'm expecting this not to be that difficult, but I'll have to get accustomed to the old Special / Physical split.

You're such a kid! By fr0q. - http://img.imgcake.com/genirisjpgde.jpg Me. By me - http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae221/GenesisSaga/JustForFun.jpg
My name will be Kevin, the same name used in my Pokemon White nuzlocke.
The game starts out with me in the back of a moving truck. Apparently me and my mom moved here from an unknown location to be closer to my dad. The mover's Vigoroth do all the heavy work, while I set the pointless clock in my room. I also withdraw a Potion from my PC. I leave to go get my first Pokemon.
Well, Birch isn't in his lab. Might as well go check at his house. He's not at his house, either, but his wife tells me that they have a daughter around my age. She lets me, a complete stranger, go up to her room, unsupervised, to meet her. Her name is May, and apparently I'm a good-looking fellow, because she seems kind-of flirty with me.
Nothing else to do here, so I decide to go check what's happening outside of Littleroot Town.
A little girl tells me that she hears something going on in Route 101, but since she doesn't have a Pokemon, she asks me to go. Mind her, I don't have a Pokemon either, and just a little while ago she wouldn't let me go outside the town because of that same reason.
On Route 101 I see this region's Professor being attacked by a wild... Zigzagoon.
I look inside his back for a Pokeball, and choose Mudkip. Zigzagoon is no match for it, however. Professor Birch thanks me, and we go back to his lab.
For saving his life, I can keep this Mudkip.
Welcome to the team, Genesis the Mudkip!
He tells me to go meet up with May. I go up through Route 101, arrive at Oldale Town. A dude to the west of the town won't let me go into that route because he's sketching the footprints of a "rare Pokemon". So I keep going north.
I meet May in Route 103, and it's time for my first rival battle!
She obviously has a Treecko, but Genesis easily takes care of it. Now we have to go back to Birch's Lab. Augh. There I get my Pokedex from Birch, and Pokeballs from May.
I also get the Running Shoes from my mom before leaving the town. What Pokemon will be my next partner? Stay tuned to find out!
Tidbit: Sure, you first take and battle with your starter in Route 101. But you actually receive it in Littleroot Town. Sucks that it still records where he was obtained as Route 101. Which means one less route for me.
Signing up. The poke caught in for me can be called Cata.

I bring order and chaos, I am life and death, creator and destroyer, just like the rest of humanity. My bunnyslug: http://img.imgcake.com/nio/catapngzu.png
I go north Littleroot Town, through Oldale Town, to catch a new member in Route 103.
Route 103 Welcome to the team, Pram the Poochyena!
I train it a couple of levels, and head to the route west of Oldale Town. By the way, remember the dude I mentioned blocking the path earlier because he was sketching the footprints of a rare Pokemon? Well...
The first thing I do in Route 102 is catch yet another team member!
Route 102 Welcome to the team, Kirby the Wurmple!
Ehh, could've been worse. I could've been stuck with a Lotad. While I don't hate them, I already have a good Water Pokemon. I have a my first real trainer battles, nothing too difficult. I decide to train a little more in the tall grass before reaching Petalburg City. And, of course, I happen to run into a Ralts while training in a nuzlocke. Why couldn't you have been my first encounter!?
Kirby notices my reaction, and decides to prove himself.
Kirby evolved into Cascoon!
**** yeah!
I arrive at Petalburg City, and head for the Pokemon Center. Once my team is healed, I decide to go sightseeing (not that there's too much to see). There's a lady in the middle of the town looking for a kid named Wally. I buy some Pokeballs and Antidotes in the PokeMart just in case. Well, time for my first gym battle!
Inside the gym is its Gym Leader, my father, Norman. Man this must be the cheapest gym ever. No puzzle, and no trainers! Dad and I get talk for a bit, and that Wally kid comes inside asking Norman for a Pokemon. I have to tag along to make sure he's safe. And of courseeeeeee he gets a Ralts on his first encounter. Damn you!
We head back, says his thank yous, and leaves. Norman tells me to head to Rustboro City, and to challenge Roxanne. Apparently I'm not good enough to challenge him. I go over to Wally's house, and he's already left for Verdanturf Town. Apparently he's sick and frail, and his parents let travel through a great distance unaccompanied.
Just before I leave the city, this sunglasses guy comes up to me. He says he's looking for talented trainers, but that I'm too ordinary for him. Well then.
Route 104 Welcome to the team, mnk the Wingull!
"oh"
There's a sea cottage owned by a Mr. Briney, but no one's there. I defeat the trainers in the route. There's this one "Lady" trainer that freaking uses a Full Restore this early in the game. Nothing else to report, except that...
Petalburg Woods Welcome to the team, LavaLord the Shroomish!
Halfway through the forest, a gentleman asks me if I have seen any Shroomish, his favorite Pokemon. Guess what, I just caught one! Before I show him my 'shroom, a Team Aqua grunt ambushes him, for some "important papers". Guess USBs don't exist yet. Grunt is beaten, but kindly tells us they're up to no good in Rustboro City. The gentleman declares that this is a "crisis", and immediately leaves.
I exit the forest, and am now in the northern part of Route 104. There's a Pretty Petal Flower Shop here. They kindly give me a Wailmer Pail that I will never use.
I arrive at Rustboro, and check the city out. Inside the Pokemon Trainer's School is the sunglasses guy from Petalburg, and he finally introduces himself as Scott. I also get HM Cut, and a Quick Claw while looking around the city. There's this old man that loves to nickname his Pokemon. He nicknamed his Pikachu "Pekachu". Yup...
I can't access the higher floors of Devon Corporation, so off to the gym I go!
Vs Rustboro Gym!
No puzzle, and all the gym trainers have Geodudes. Easily taken care of. Next up is Roxanne!
"Would you kindly demonstrate how you battle, and with which Pokemon?"
I decide to start with LavaLord. First up is a Geodude, and Absorb 1HKOs it. Next is another Geodude, and 2 Absorbs take care of him. Well, so far so good...
Lastly is her signature Pokemon, Nosepass. LavaLord uses Absorb! And although it's super-effective, it hardly does anything. Uh oh... I try using Stun Spore several times while Nosepass uses Harden, but I miss every single time. Well, I guess I'm gonna have to switch out LavaL-- Nosepass uses Block, LavaLord can't escape! Oh screw you, Roxanne.
A Stun Spore finally makes contact! Now to use Leech Seed, and it keeps missing, too. Nosepass starts using Rock Tomb, which takes half of my HP with a single hit. Things aren't looking good. I use a Potion, and it uses Rock Tomb. Another Potion, another Rock Tomb, it repeats 4 times until I have only 1 Potion left.
Until finally Nosepass can't move, so I seize the opportunity. I use an X Defense I had found a while back, then use Leech Seed. Nosepass can't move like 3 turns in a row, and Absorb / Leech Seed finally take him down!
Pokalicious posted... Also, all my Pokemon have been female so far... except Genesis. >_>
This is exactly what happened in the last Nuzlocke I read. Everybody was gettin' ladies but me!

Leaving the gym, I come across the Team Aqua grunt from before stealing some stuff from that same guy. The Devon dude's like "Oh no he took my GOODS!"
I head for the Pokemon Center and heal my Pokemon (well, just LavaLord). I venture north of Rustboro, and find myself in Route 115. There's nothing to do here for now, except to pick up a Super Potion. I head east of Rustboro toward Route 116.
Route 116 Welcome to the team, Raka the Whismur!
Damn, that sucks. I had a 100% chance of catching a Whismur later, and I get stuck with it on this route. I was hoping for a Nincada, Abra, or Skitty. :/
I decide to train most of my guys before going on. Afterwards, I arrive at the entrance of Rusturf Tunnel. I meet Mr. Briney, who says the Team Aqua grunt took his beloved Wingull, Peeko. I go inside the tunnel, and take back the GOODS and Peeko.
The Devon guy rewards me with a Great Ball. Oh yay... He takes me to meet the president of Devon Corporation, Mr. Stone. They ask me to deliver a letter to a man named Steven in Dewford Town, and a parcel to someone on Slateport City. A president of a corporation sending a teenage boy to do his deliveries for him. I swear, all the people from Hoenn so far have been completely out of their minds. At least he gives me a PokéNav as compensation.
Leaving Rustboro, I spot May. We exchange numbers, and she asks for a battle. Aww yeah easy EXP, here we come.
Vs. May!
Six vs. two? Oh May, you're gonna get slaughtered.
She starts with a Wingull, who is a couple of levels higher than Pram. Wingull proves to be too tough of an opponent, and my only choice is to switch out.
I send out Genesis, so that her Water Gun won't do much damage. But it proves pointless, as Wingull knows a powerful Wing Attack. All I have against it are tackles, which are pretty weak since she used Growl on me a couple of times. Just as I have her in low red HP, May switches Wingull and sends out Treecko. Damn May, you're proving to be a tough opponent.
I recall Genesis, and send out Kirby. Kirby's Gusts take Treecko out no problem, but Treecko took half of its HP. May sends out the almost fainted Wingull, and I leave Kirby in. All I need to do is connect one little attack, and that monster is down. Wingull goes first, and her Wing Attack...
Damn. :( I send out mnk, and it takes down Wingull.
Kirby, you shall be missed. You were my secret weapon against the next gym.
I buy some Repels, head for Mr. Briney's cottage, and ask him to take me to Dewford Town.
We get on his boat, and take our leave. Literally seconds later, we arrive in Dewford Town.
I've been looking at my Pokemon's Gen III movepools, and man do some of them suck hard.
For example, Genesis' best move will be Water Gun until I get HM Surf. mnk's best move will be Wing Attack. What the hell am I supposed to do with moves like these down the road?
Tagging. I want something named after me, but it'll probably be something dumb. That's assuming there haven't been so many people posting already that all spots have been filled.
Even if I don't get a Poke, tagging anyway because I like Nuzlockes and for some reason RSE is my favorite generation to Nuzlocke.

Chapter 5: Crushing Encounters - Brawl at the Dewford Gym
I arrive at Dewford Town, and check it out. The only interesting building is the Dewford Hall, where everyone is obsessed with the latest trend. Which apparently is something named "Lukewarm Message". This town doesn't even have a PokeMart.
I head north toward Granite Cave. Now here's what the Repels were for. I will be using them so I can get to the B2 Floor of the cave without any encounters. That floor has the highest chance of a cooler Pokemon. Let's see if it payed off... A Zubat. I don't want that on my team, so I kill it. Decision I might regret later. Oh well.
I find Steven, and deliver the letter. He gives me TM Steel Wing.
While I'm here, I might as well train my Pokemon before the gym battle.
Genesis evolved into Marshtomp!
It also learned Mud Shot!
Continuing training, it's all going good for Pram. That is, until I encounter a wild Lv.10 Makuhita. The ones I've killed before this one have only known Tackle. But apparently, they learn Arm Thrust at that level. One attack, and Pram goes down.
I didn't even get to screen capture the moment. Sorry, my friend.
Finished training mnk, and decide to hit the gym.
Vs. Dewford Gym
The "puzzle" is that the gym is pitch-black, and it slightly lights up with every trainer I defeat. Piece of cake, like always. Feeling pretty confident about this.
Vs. Brawly! (Dammit forgot screen capture again)
I give an Oran Berry for mnk to hold, and start the battle. First comes a Machop, two Wing Attacks and it's down. Next is Meditite. It tries using Focus Punch, but my Wing Attacks take it down no problem. Lastly is his Makuhita. It uses Bulk Up, I use a Wing Attack. Then he uses Vital Throw, and it puts me in low yellow. Uh oh. My Oran Berry kicks in, and... heals practically nothing. I use a Super Potion, he uses Bulk Up. This is my chance! I use Supersonic, and he hurts himself. I use Wing Attack, it's still not enough. He uses Vital Throw, and mnk is down...
I send out Genesis. He pulls of a Mud Shot, Makuhita is still confused and hurts himself. And it goes down. mnk, even though you fainted, you were still the one to deal the final blow to Makuhita. Thank you very much.
I leave the gym and head to the Pokemon Center, to mourn my recent losses.
- Fallen: Kirby - Lv.13 Dustox [Route 102] (Killed by May's Wingull in Rustboro City) Pram - Lv.15 Poochyena [Route 103] (Killed by a wild Makuhita in Granite Cave) mnk - Lv.18 Wingull [Route 104] (Killed by Brawly's Makuhita in Dewford Gym)
- Waiting List: Raka Anagram Suor Beavis Cody Maniac Han Wigs Meteor MOR beavis mcflubbin Cata Orochimaru ctes Eerieka Natwaf
(Natwaf, putting you again on the list on account that is a different name than Pram. You will get to go again if your encounter is male, when your turn comes.)
