Well, that is certainly something. Old school FM legend, though he seems to be more of an international star than a club goalscoring machine. Maybe that will change at Arsenal since Roque Santa Cruz did pretty good at first when he came over from germany.
Their second goal was offside and the third, that free-kick was dubious. Well I don't know, maybe it is a clearcut rule that you have to have both boots on but hardly something he could help.
That being said, despite the goals being 'dodgy', can't complain at the actual result as Bilbao were the better side and deserved to win.

Crucifying my Oracle average one match at a time
Their second goal should've been ruled offside, but then again, they should also have had a penalty in the first half (Smalling on Llorente). Mistakes like that happen all the time though.

Sometimes I wonder, once you try and break football down with stats and Sabermetrics I wonder if one day we'll be able to gauge player efficiency in a better manner than today.
I just think that people will look at a player's goals/assists/clean sheets and they might be well not really all that useful in properly assessing how good a player really is. Would really like to see just how far you can push stats in football since in other sports there really seems to have been an incredible development in how the player performances have been measured.
Drawback is that european football is run either by rich people who don't really care about that since they can afford the glamour players, or by very old school owners who stick with tradition, a sort of its never been done so why bother?

They aren't. There's a reason Modric is worth 40 million quid despite getting like 3 goals and assists each per season.
City were dire against Sporting Lisbon. I don't know how much of that was them not caring about the 1st leg of a Europa League match but... if they play like that in the league they will drop points frequently.

So uh been talkin' with ngirl on that Podolski signing which seems to come across almost as preparation in case RVP leaves. Since Arsenal don't really seem to reinvest funds much, wouldn't Arsenal fans rather see a player return?
Like would you say no to RVP for Pato straight up if you KNEW RVP was leaving at the end of next year.
And Bolton rob QPR blind. Good chance they get relegated now, with their horrid last run of games (the whole of the top ten, minus Fulham, plus Sunderland (A) and West Brom (A)). Don't think many will be sad to see them go.

Woah JT. You are suppose to be one of the more respectable old guards but that's pretty douchebag of you man. Di Matteo had managed just 2 games and haven't even lost yet man and you are already eyeing his removal already?

I'm talking in terms of how he was to his club and manager. I've never heard him openly bashing anyone or stirring any trouble with regards to Chelsea FC. (i.e. he's not like drog, lamps or cole or kalou)
