Yeah, the canon is a mixture of the two scenarios.

Chris probably was the one who ultimately confronts or defeats Wesker based on their relationship.

Yeah, Capcom has said flat out that the 'real end' is a mashup of the two scenarios where all five live.

Barry coming back and saving Jill and Carlos is the canon ending to RE3, but that's the last we see of him.

Rebecca files paperwork on Billy's death as already mentioned so she has to have made it out as well.

Capcom just likes to keep taunting us by putting them in Mercs but never telling us what happened to them after the Mansion.

The best part about Rebecca's file is that she spells Billy's name wrong. But it does show just how long RE0 was in development that this was in RE2.

On July 23rd, an MP vehicle was found inside the Arklay Mountains. Corpses of MP members and an unidentified body were found near the vehicle. According to the information from military authorities, the unidentified body was identified as former 2nd Lieutenant Billy Koen, who was sentenced the death penalty following a court-martial on July 22nd.

While Koen was on transfer via Marine MP escort, they must have experienced some kind of accident. The corpses were severely mauled, apparently torn apart by unidentified wild animals. The following day we returned to the location to recover the bodies but they were nowhere to be found. Military authorities have requested that we turn over Koen's body as proof of his death, but due to the circumstances described above, it will be a difficult task to recover the corpse. I am requesting that this case be temporarily closed until further notice.

Ok, total RE noob. I watched the RE2 LP By the Two Best Friends guys (AWESOME btw). They kept ripping on it super hard, and it all seemed really dry and boring. Then they were all like BEST GAME EVER! At the end. What makes it so excellent?

It's still the best in the series at mixing in puzzles with mowing down hordes of zombies. The interweaving scenarios (basically four games in one) plus the fourth survivor leads to a level of immersion not seen in any game that followed it. The OST is my favorite which pairs well with my favorite environment in the series (The RPD), and the story revolves around my favorite character in the series, William Birkin. (I wrote a way too long article about his rise and fall that's still on the B8 Wiki). It's basically the pinnacle of classic survival horror in story and gameplay. The only game in the running for that title is Silent Hill 2.

I use antlers in ALL of my decorating.

Between that comment and REvelations, I find myself playing RE2.

I got all 1-3 on PSN when they were half off that one time, and went through four playthroughs of RE1 and then LeonA before getting burned out.

Me and my brother tackled Ghost Ship halfway through Trench aww yeah

Weren't even trying to beat it too. The path we were doing was kicking our ass so bad (going through the Lab), so we gave up and decided to just explore other parts of the map.

That's when went through the cabins, got to the deck and realized that's where the end was. >___>

I don't think any reappear in areas you've already been, but I know if you miss one in a chapter and have to backtrack later you can still get it.

It's a points system, but the easiest way is

3 hours or less, less than two FASprays, and less than 4 saves. Herbs count against you but MUCH less.

I'm pretty sure you could blindfold myself & FFDragon, get us to run through any given scenario, and we can do it without dying and still finish in ninety minutes give or take.

Claire was still good in CVX despite her situation, but it is a damn shame that the only thing we've seen her in since then was playing second fiddle to Leon in Degeneration. She's a lot of the reason CVX is up high in fact.

I for one am quite fond of the ridiculousness of CVX, in puzzles, in difficulty, in gameplay, and in story. I love Alexia and I love her interaction with Wesker, and the end fight between Chris and Wesker is in the running for best moment in the entire series. Resident Evil 4 just felt so detached (because they wanted it to be) whereas CVX felt entirely engrossing. Separate Ways does a lot to bring RE4 back in closer, but it falls just shy of reaching my experiences with CVX. The middle of my rankings is extremely close for what it's worth.

I knew this was going to be brought up by you. Even if you enjoyed the game less, that alone would put it so high up for you.

I for one am sick of Chris and want him dead. Especially because maybe then they would be forced to use Claire more in the prominent games.

This being Capcom, Chris still wouldn't be dead. Side games a plenty he would be in.
