"ONLINE FIGHTING is an action-comedy about two video gamers rekindling a feud. What starts off as fun and games online quickly becomes a battle of jealousy and redemption offline -- especially once loved ones are involved."
It was in their New Play Festival last year as one of three table-readings (actors reading aloud around a table), and it's the only one of those three to return this year as a stage-reading (actors still with scripts but are on their feet with basic sets/costumes/sound). If it does well again, there's a chance it'll get a true three-week production to headline next year's festival.
You may be asking yourself "Dude, HaRRicH, like, check it son: I've followed all of your topics about your dumb play, and I could have sworn you already produced it before. What's so new about an old play?" ONLINE FIGHTING did get a full production last September, true...of only the original-length version, which is just the first scene of the two-act version being done today (with a larger company than September's production as well). Here it is, in case you missed it:
Not sold on watching that link yet? Here's the only review that matters:
"That was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. :)" --SBAllen
"Yo yo yo yo yo, that's great and all, but will I be able to see this production?" As a matter of fact, voice in my head, yes! I got a video camera for Christmas and will be recording this production, so you can expect videos from today later this week.
Last, thanks for the support you've given in the past, B8. It's a play I've found many people enjoy whether they know diddly about video games or not, but it's especially made for gamers like us...so I'll continue keeping you guys posted.
Game on.

A bit slow at the start, but the last five minutes is very intense.

Cats land on their feet. Toast lands peanut butter side down. A cat with toast strapped to its back will hover above the ground in a state of quantum indecision
Yeah, setting up the premise of a play in its opening minutes sucks; that's where a lot of plays struggle. I think I've done better with that in the play I'm currently writing, at least.

I'm hoarse from laughing -- they did a wonderful job. The discussion afterward lasted so long the venue had to kick us out, and the majority of that discussion was more than positive. The artistic director of the company and play's director wish to talk more tomorrow, too, so...I'm very exhausted and fortunate right now.
I'll be posting the videos once I learn how to upload them onto my computer...hopefully that'll be tomorrow.

If you don't read it soon, at least you can watch it soon!
Speaking of which, I'm about to transfer the files onto my computer. Assuming I have a program that'll allow me to edit the clips all together, how long of a file will YouTube allow me to upload at once? I don't know if I should make it all one long film (preferable), split it by acts, or by scene in case YouTube wants to fight me on its length; I believe it has in the past, though I think they've allowed longer videos since then too.

I've seen hour long clips on there before but you might need special permission first or something. Not really sure how it works but congratulations on your success!
It depends on your account. I'm not sure on the exact details. New accounts used to start with a 10-15 minute maximum which may no longer apply. My account supposedly lets me upload 2+GB videos and can even be a few hours long and I've only uploaded a few videoes.

SuperNiceDog was not so nice to my bracket. Congrats to SuperNiceDog for winning the Rivalry Rumble Guru Contest!
It looked like YouTube would have a fifteen-minute limit unless I added my phone number to prove my realness. Whatever though -- the videos are edited, so I'll post a new topic with the links hopefully after work tomorrow.
The meeting went very well tonight too. For example, I found out they've never had as large of an audience for a stage-reading as they had for my play...despite it happening on Superbowl Sunday. F*** yeah. =)
There may be more news in the coming months as well. For now, however, my goals are clear on how to continue improving this piece.
